I hope that's not the last of Jordon Thompson we see for this season.  The young lad could do a real job for us at CDM and is a specialist at that positon.  I don't see why the manager keeps playing Haliday in there since he's a poor CDM and not the answer.  Give the young boy some game time and let's see where he's at.

It will be. We'll see Thompson, Hardie and perhaps Burt all go out on loan for, first team football. They won't get in given the strengthening that has taken place this summer.

Halliday isn't a DM but I doubt we wanted to risk Barton getting injured tonight on a pretty garbage surface therefore Halliday got the nod. Halliday will not play as a DM much at all this season unless he has too so I can't see Thompson getting in. He looks ok, thought he had a couple of decent touches tonight but equally a few slack passes.

Im looking forward to Young Jordan Rossiter fitting into the team he is the one that could be a real star for the future given where he is at now.

The club are going so much in the right direction the players we are recruiting the manager and board deserve credit that there is a feel good factor again -

That the club are back selected the right manager - back where we belong . and the club motto are ready

Rangers play one way, no teams in Scotland can cope, Celtic found that out last year, it will seem teams sit in and defend against us but the way we play makes it seem that way. from the bottom division to the top, teams will be in defensive mode because Rangers play tika taka football. we might be weak in defence but we are entertaining. and we will try and score more than our opposition.

Pretty much this. Only Celtic and Aberdeen will try play attacking against us I reckon. Hearts are more a physical hoofball type of team which will be a different type of challenge for us.

Positives:

More fitness, good possession first half, no injuries afaik and some goals from unusual directness of play.

Debutant got a goal and MOH and Barrie showed up well.

Negatives:

Against a part time Lowlands League part time team at same stage of preseason as us our second half was pretty rank. Individually and collectively we lost our way.

We've got 2 games before the league starts and actually have quite a bit to do yet.

The mindset is on pre-season mode, so you cant fault the players. There isn't a lot to do imo, we'll be playing teams like Motherwell this season who we breezed past.

People seem to overrate the top flight, the standard is shite.

Second half we went into neutral but I'd rather we did that than go for it and risk injuries on a dodgy surface in a game we had won in a tournament that doesn't matter.

Anyway, I think we'll hit 4 or 5 past Stranraer on Monday as we should have done against Annan.

I'm hardly overly critical here  but that was pretty rank against, I'll repeat, Lowlands League part-time players in their pre season.

And if you think that second half performance will cut it you're wrong, we'll get punished by top 6 teams.

But we've got a way to go and 2 weeks to get there which I'm sure we will.
