This is a load of nonsense if we're all being honest.  If a Rangers fan had done something similar with say Chris Sutton, we'd all be defending him to the hilt.  Lennons a different kettle of fish due to his "threats" from various loyalist groups, he's always going to be taken more serious if things like this happened, whether we like it or not.

A friend of mines made a tongue in cheek comment on twitter a few years back. Didnt even mention the name Lennon, just a reference to hair colour. Soon after, anti terrorist police raided his home, he was taken to the cells and had his face and name splashed all over the papers. This is why this particular incident totally deserves to be highlighted.
