Do i expect us to win every game? No.

Do i expect us to beat Hamilton at Ibrox. Every time.

Well, having lived through the Greig management years, unconditional expectation is not high up on my list.

Any low expectation is due to two things. First, we won the championship - great. But our record against our main competitors, Hibs and Falkirk, was poor - 50% success rate.

Based on that, I would have placed last year's team fourth at best.

Secondly, we do now have a stronger team, but untested. The expectation in the past about Rangers winning titles was based on the winning mentaility being passed on from player to player, season to season. For me, being punted down to these lower divisions has weakened that psychology. In a sense, Rangers need to relearn being number one again. There is a learning curve that needs to be reclimbed.

Do we have the squad to win the title? On paper, I don't see why not, but its going to require a mentality that I have no idea is there or not. It's all about the whole being greater than the sum of the parts. I think it will come with time, whether soon enough to grind out the results, i don't know.

So for me,. its more hopes than expectations at this stage.
