ready1873 3,864
Its incredible, for me anyway, to think of McCann as an older player, and a legend. But to you slightly older bears (not 'old' at all) how did you rate him ?
ready1873 3,864
I willalways remember him as a fine, fine crosser of a football.
BridgeIsBlue 66,498
Best crosser of the ball I've seen.
don logan 8,023
Great wee player but missed an absolute sitter in the Champions League which would have took us to the group stages and that's my abiding memory of him.
BridgeIsBlue 66,498
Still buckle at this
sandyinroyalblue 16,478
Fantastic crosser of a ball and like some of the Scottish players who played in his era benefited from playing with the likes of Mols and Van Bronkhurst and made him a better player. Bigsasasfloppyhair 13,310
He was tremendous. In this day and age McCann would be snapped up in the region of 5-10 million easily. He was quick, direct, good passer, good crossed and chipped in with goals. Loved the wee man.

No Ross McCormack is a £10 Million pound player these days, in this age McCann would be at least £15 Million in the mental world of the English Football League. Sonnybear1972 8,130
First thing i think of when someone mentions Neil Mcann, is winning the title at the tattiedome!! He was a cracking player for us.
bombaybadboy08 15,660
Frustrating at times due to his inconsistency but when he was on form he was excellent. Will never forget his contribution to us winning the league on enemy territory.

PromDeAnglais 5,446
Great player. Surprised that he only played 28 times for Scotland, anybody known why?
Jack The Flipper 5,936
Thought he was a great little player, excellent work rate, wasn't the most tricky winger but he was direct, fast and great crosser.

ready1873 3,864
Some of that footage, when you compare him to a modern winger, is sublime.Fantastic player.
kanjo 26,295
Always said that if the McCann of his days at Rangers played now, he would be playing for a team in the northern regions of the Premiership down south. He was quick, good with his feet and could score goals. Terrific player and my favourite of the Advocaat era.

Fred H Crawford 1,182
Loved the wee man , impressive against us a few timed with dundee and hearts so was delighted when we bought him . Could vary his play , crossing from deep , getting to the goal line , running at players with pace and trickery . The way he carries himself in his media duties and subsequent professional career is befitting of a Ranger IMO . As for the day at the giro dome , all I can say is that my youngest daughter was born about 9 months later Still wish I had called her Neil ( and she knows it )
bluewhitevanman 1,619
Great player really took to us like we did him and was he not getting horrible abuse for signing for us?? Btw that video with all his goals for Rangers was brutal u would swear he played for us in the mid 70s watching that
