Finishing

That's the fuckin problem.

Couldnae score in a barrel o fannies wae a tenner tied round our knobs.

Biggest issue in my opinion - we take our chances and we win games. Never seen a Gers side be so ineffective in front of goal despite playing three forwards.

Needs to change, and soon.

7 goals in 6 games in a shite league and the easiest opening four games you could hope to pick - we're not good enough.

when the fixtures came out i said we would win 5 of our first 6 games the celtic game was always going to be difficult on paper we got a very easy start but we have blown it we still have difficult games v hearts inverness and st johnstone  these teams will not be easy to be especially when we cannot score goals and will always lose at least 1

Exactly right. Doesn't help we are prone to gifting goals of course however we should have been out of sight today.  Created enough chances to do so and if they had to chase the game we would have created more.

I've been saying that for fucking ages mate, he's as clumsy as fuck.

You mean he's not a natural finisher?

He scores 3 against a championship side, Kenny scores 4 in a friendly. Why does the management team think that will translate to league games.

They have SERIOUSLY underestimated the standard of opposition this season imo.

Sounds a bit like most of us on here. Hamilton are shite, Motherwell are shite, Dundee are shite, Kilmarnock are shite, Ross County are shite, the scum are shite and Aberdeen are shite. Maybe Mark Warburton has been reading this board. The problem is WE and the management have overestimated the quality we have in our squad.

Bring on Partick Thistle, they are shite!

Waghorn is brutal and always has been. The sheer amount of chances he misses...

youre talking pish m8, he's scored nearly 40 goals in over a season for us, and he's been injured a few times aswell. It's the system we play that's costing us this season!, we're too slow in our build up and playing with one forward and a man down in McKay is costing us!....Waggy in a 2 up front with garner or Kenny and we'd be creating more chances!

The 40 goals have come from about 400 chances to score

Waghorn is massively overrated on here, cringe when the usual mob defend him showing his scoring record. Can count on one hand the big games he's shown up in. It's no surprise to me our best performances last season came when he was out injured or our only two league victories have been without him this season. His passing is horrendous.

As said in a previous post Warburton has gambled on a few nomad type players. Waghorn has quality he just doesnt show it on often enough. I feel there is too many players that don't grasp the fact of what it really means to be a rangers player. Hurting bear the now!

Sorry, but Waghorn just hasn't got it at this level. Scored 3 midweek so you would think he would be high in confidence going into today's game. In reality he was possibly the worst player on the park for us today. That miss in the 2nd half !!!

At this level they are not even showing up as journeymen in terms of scoring goals.   Wayward, slipshod. error-prone, poor decision making, inaccurate and not willing enough to go where it hurts to get goals.   Flattering to deceive.  Promoted beyond their ability to deliver.   And the longer this goes on (its already gone on too long this season already) Warburton also looks promoted beyond his theoretical capabilities.   Collectively, they are not showing up as being anywhere good enough for this league.

If we get beat by thistle, that would be the  final straw.

Been saying it for a while; he's got the first touch of a one-legged rhino, his passing is woeful and his finishing against tougher opposition is positively diabolical. That said, there is plenty of blame to go 'round this team; we act like we're dragging cement blocks inside the box as the lack of movement by those off the ball beggars belief, and the finishing (or complete lack thereof) by all & sundry...God's holy teeth...

The system actually produces goal scoring chances.. we just fail to convert. Open goals missed CANNOT in ANY WAY be blamed on the fucking system... I suppose its popular to state it as fact, though.
