BlueSuedeSambas 53,701
Noticed there's a vote going on on the SkySports Facebook page just now where you can vote for your England SquadBased on those votes so far the squad the fans want isFoster, Forster, HartJohnson, Walker, Jones, Cahill, Jagielka, Baines, ShawSterling, The Ox, Gerrard, Milner, Barkley, Henderson, Lallana, Wilshire, LampardRooney, Welbeck, Lambert, SturridgeIt actually seems like a decent squad to me although I wouldn't take Walker. I would drop him for another centre half, probably Stones. It would be really harsh on Barry to miss out too. He's been exceptional this season but who do you drop him for?On paper this team could actually be decentHartJohnsonCahillJagielkaBainesSterlingGerrardHendersonWilshireLallanaSturridgeBut there's no way Hodgson would play such an attacking team and there is no way Rooney doesn't start as first choice centre forward. simplythebest 11,453
CB options are very limited in that squad if Cahill or Jagielka get injured. I'd be talking to Terry even if it isn't to be an automatic starter
6superbarry6 14,128
ashley cole has to go for me ahead of Shaw
G.E.C. 18,707
Defoe over Lambert, experience will get him in ahead of him IMO.
Creampuff 22,628
Can't believe so many people want to take Andy Carroll .
Creampuff 22,628
Defoe over Lambert, experience will get him in ahead of him IMO.Defoe is injured at the moment, so he'll need to prove his fitness first.
Creampuff 22,628
ashley cole has to go for me ahead of ShawHe's only played a dozen times all year!
simplythebest 11,453
Ruddy over Forster for third choice keeper wouldn't surprise me
6superbarry6 14,128
a very average squad nowhere near the quality of last few squads at major championships and they didnt exactly set the tournament alight group stage as far as they go imo
6superbarry6 14,128
He's only played a dozen times all year!i know but he has the experience if he can prove his fitness he's still the best lb defensively in England which could be vital against better sides
BlueSuedeSambas 53,701
I'd leave Cole at home.Baines is undoubted first choice now and will play if fit. Even if he's not then Shaw has played enough football for his age to be trusted to start against anybody.I'd also say that considering everybody is calling this WC even more of write off than usual I think looking to the future Shaw would benefit from the experience more than Cole will. Misteral 2,932
I would changeRuddy for FosterAshley Cole (who was excellent the other night) for WalkerThere are plenty of attacking midfielders there so maybe take another central defender (Stones?) for Welbeck, who will likely be sat on the bench most of the time anyway. the goal machine 7,791
Defoe over Lambert, experience will get him in ahead of him IMO.I disagree, Lambert's a lot better than Defoe for me.

plymouthranger 3,862
I don't see how this England team is weaker than the sides they had for the last 2 tournaments (euros and World Cup). They have far more many players on form this year (mostly due to Liverpool), whilst players like baines and sturridge could be argued to be almost world class currently.Think England will make semis, this is a team this year, rather than a bunch of individuals
TheKingObv 10,634
Never got the whole obsession surrounding the 'England Squad' for big tournaments.Let's face it, if you are one of the ones who just make it and no more (and that everyone is debating about) you're not getting a game anyway. King Jela 20,350
I'd start Rooney every game. He's fucking pish and him leading the line would fuck them up spectacularly.
