      For £40k a week we should have an absolute standout in this league. He isn’t, and he and Tav’s arses collapses time after time. He has ability, but he’s also part of a leadership team whose mentality is pish. We need a clear out, not being lumbered with £40k per week for another two years for a guy who’s not been good enough and is now on a downward trajectory. Folk thought we’d never get over Morelos and Kent leaving, and we have. Same with these guys. We need change or we’ve PC out a job by next Christmas.

      But what’s the replacement cost? He’s probably still our best CB and second best CB in the league. We've spent money on Davies and wages on Balogun with less return.  It’s not great odds we’re going to happen across a CB for free who is going to come in and be better on less wages. Don’t really get the Goldson criticism tbh. At times he’s been next to some pretty average CB. Yet overall he’s been a good performer in a system where you are left exposed a lot with advancing full backs. He’s been poor recently. But the reality is we haven’t won a lot over the years b/c of a lack of quality and depth in the squad (midfield and wide players being for the most part worse than celtic’s). It’s not at CB or full back where they have been better than us.

      Stephen Lee fixed matches, Higgins didn't. That's why they received different punishments.  It was a complex case, inaccurately reported at the time, and the full details convinced both the head of the police investigation and the head of the sporting tribunal that Higgins' explanations were credible, and corroborated by both the News of the World, who did the sting, and his business partner, who was the person actually engaging in corruption.  https://www.sportingintelligence.com/2010/09/21/revealed-why-john-higgins-was-cleared-of-match-fixing-because-the-evidence-including-a-statement-from-mazher-mahmood-told-the-full-story-210901/ The stuff that made Higgins look bad, and it really did, came entirely from the reporting and selective video editing of a newspaper so famously disreputable that it no longer exists.
