LEE WALLACE, Jon Daly and Nicky Law have all been named among the four candidates for the PFA Scotland League One Player of the Year award.

The trio were announced as nominees today and will learn if any of them have won the prize during a gala dinner at the Hilton Glasgow on Sunday, April 27.

Wallace, of course, won the PFA’s Third Division Player of the Year award last season following a string of consistent displays as Rangers won the title by 24 points.

Having kicked on once more this term, it’s no surprise to see the Scotland left-back shortlisted yet again.

Daly has made a good impact since joining Gers last summer after leaving Dundee United at the end of his contract there.

With 20 goals in League One and 25 in all competitions, he’s the second-top scorer in the division behind Ayr United’s Michael Moffat, the final man in contention.

Law was actually named in PFA Scotland’s SPL Team of the Year in 2013 for the way he went about his business with former club Motherwell.

He’s another who has made a positive contribution since joining the Light Blues, having played in all bar four league games and scored 11 times in 38 outings overall.

This afternoon's announcement also revealed the nominees for PFA Scotland's Player of the Year prizes in the Championship and League Two.

And in the higher division there are three ex-Rangers listed, with Kane Hemmings (Cowdenbeath), Rory Loy (Falkirk) and Peter MacDonald (Dundee) all in the running.

Maybe controversial here but on paper I think the boy Moffat should get it

To out score the top scorer in a team where the league leaders have scored almost 100 goals is a pretty impressive feat IMO and most of our players performances have tailed off since Christmas.

I read it as Daly was ahead

Thats some effort right enough.

However if it didn't go to a Rangers player folk on here would have a breakdown and the conspiracy loyal would be out in large numbers...

I think your right on Moffat. It would be Wallace for us but in truth none of our nominees has been anything but average this year and in Law and Dalys case downright awful despite Dalys 20 something goals.
