Is This State Aid?

I don't know if anybody else has posted regarding this, but tomorrow Renfrewshire Council will vote on an agreement with St Mirren to have their ground renamed Paisley 2010 Stadium as part of their push for the City of Culture bid. It is estimated that this will bring in about £30,000 a year from the public purse. Having seen how the Commonwealth Games bid was manipulated to put money into c****c are we now seeing the same happening with St Mirren?

City of Culture when it isn't a city.

It does sound as dodgy as Sellik

Well they did have their mhanky shop take over st middens ,think it was when they played friendlies there or some other shite ,when work was getting done at the brendan dome , so it's rubbing off

No different from stadium sponsorship, so no.

Why at a time of austerity should a team in the second tier of Scottish football be getting £30,000 a year of our council tax money? St Mirren park is a small, but tidy ground on the outskirts of Paisley, it's hardly a buzzing hub of society within Paisley at the best of times. I'll be honest in that I personally don't see how this venue can be perceived as being cultural in any way.
