Gallagher leaves on loan

Joke! One of our best young players and instead of giving him his chance here in the championship we loan him down to a lower level. Imo more than good enough to compete with Boyd, Clark and Miller up front and Aird, Templeton, MacLeod and Peralta on the wing (not that I'd play MacLeod on the left). One of the few players who actually done consistently well on the wing when he got a chance. Instead we'll use journeyman on high wages to fill up the first team squad.

I really rate the lad, and it's only until Jan.

To be honest, with Boyd, Miller, Clarke and Daly due back, he was never gonna get a game.

But who knows with injuries later on into a very competitive Championship.

My heart tells me bollocks, but my head tells me right decision at present, so he can get a lot of competitive games under his belt.

A shame for Gallagher as he has the right attitude, pity we shit on players like that.

This is his words when Miller signed.

“I hope he was impressed by the fact I was in the gym at Murray Park instead of on holiday – he can tell the manager that!

“Seriously, it’s good to make a good first impression and hopefully I did that.”

While Gallagher’s mates are lapping up some Magaluf madness this summer, he’s been pounding a treadmill in preparation for the biggest season of his career so far.

The 19-year-old sacrificed a jolly with his pals to get in peak condition ahead of pre-season training – in his bid to cement a place in McCoist’s side next term.

He said: “At first I was going to go on holiday but this is going to be a big year for me so I thought I’d do the professional thing, buckle down and start work a wee bit earlier.

Your hard work has earned you a loan spell at Cowdenbeath, Calum.
