Or how about a professional footballer singing offensive and racist songs about a foreigner yet he can still continue his career as a footballer. Football is a (well it used to be) mans' game and a bit of rough handling is expected, and the rules should have protected DF, and the SFA should have seen to it that the police were warned off and that their rules and punishment were enough to ensure that the matter would be fairly dealt with.I agree that singing a song and being incarcerated for such is one of the stupidest laws ever to be passed by the forever offended mob.In the case of McGowan, I can only surmise that he must have had a good lawyer and the guy from Goat's bus didn't. That's more than enough to justify a custodial sentence, yet Sheriff O'Carroll decided not to jail him.However, the lad who sang TBB (which was a stupid thing to do, but didn't cause injury to anyone) gets four months in jail courtesy of Sheriff Crozier. In any society run by people who don't sit on their brains*, the guy with the penchant for attacking cops would go to jail and the idiotic singer would get a methaporical kick up the jacksie.
