Ryan Hardie The Day

Recommended Posts

Looked to have a good game. Get's pushed off the ball a bit easy, but he's 6-foot plus, so some gym-work will fix that in the coming years. He took his goals well, and had the confidence to took a few ambitious shots from outside the box, or from tight angles. He made a few silly mistakes, and sometimes tried to do too much by himself, but he's young, and that will pass.

I'm actually quite excited about him. If he bulks up a bit, he could be the complete striker.

Was excellent today, what a difference between him and Clark, got pace, can hold the ball up,makes good runs everything Clark

Doesn't have, don't know why McCall persists with him ,his miss before there first goal was woeful ,well done Ryan keep it up

Very good performance by him.

Showed good pace for the first, winning the race to a ball over the top and holding off the defender to slot home, a little too delicately, which almost allowed a defender to clear off the line, but he had the presence of mind and sharpness to follow it up as it developed.

The second was a calm ?left? foot overhead kick without jumping, directing a lobbing ball inside the right post.

At his age, he has plenty of time to improve and build himself up.

Didn't see the game but looks like he's done pretty well after being given a chance by McCall. How did he play and did he take his goals well? One for the future?

its good to see some good quality young players play football, fight for every ball and score goals.and as you point out McCall deserves some praise for playing these lads in what was a big game for us today.

Played well today. Looks a bit lightweight but only turned 18 last month. That can be worked on - the natural ability seems to be there.

If we need him to bulk up just pair him with Boyd for a week :)

As long as he doesn't listen to boyd to much he will be fine... In his interview on RTV he said boyd gave him advice before the game boyd told him... Dont do lots of pointless running and the ball will come to him...

What sort of attitude is that for a senior player to be having.. No wonder he doesnt play

Dream debut for the young lad. Deserved a hat trick. His movement and non stop running was refreshing to watch. 2nd goal was pure skill. Came out wide and played great crosses into the box. Held the ball well and has really good pace for his height. A joy to watch so he was. Makes Clark Miller and Boyd look like amatuers.

I dont agree about players having to bulk up to be good

The greatest players ever have been small and overcome

bigger opponents by being far better footballers .

Michael Owen in his day was no jolly green giant.
