STUART McCALL was pleased to leave Dumbarton with the victory that hands his side a four point advantage in second place, ahead of a Hibs side that lost in the Scottish Cup today.

The Rangers boss saw his side recover from an early setback to secure a 3-1 win at Dumbarton and keep their fate in their hands as they seek to finish in second.

McCall said: "Prior to the game we said that the most important thing was to come away with three points and we did that.

"We made it difficult for ourselves by going down to an early goal but we scored three and could have got a lot more.

"It's job done in that we came away with the points but we could have made it far more comfortable for ourselves, but I dont think its any coincidence that the man of the match for Dumbarton was their goalkeeper.

"He had two or three great saves and we missed some good chances but all in all we know there are things we could have done better but if wed been clinical wed have been looking at a handsome victory.

With Hibs in cup action the Light Blues now have a four point gap over the capital club, who play their game in hand at Livingston on Wednesday night.

The Easter Road team lost 1-0 at Hampden to a Falkirk side who visit Ibrox in seven days in a clash McCall expects to the tricky.

He added: "I'll be there at Livingston on Wednesday night and we know how tough it will be because they gave us a hard game and they are fighting for their lives.

"Hibs have been knocked out of the cup and now have their sole focus on getting promoted so Alan Stubbs will be drumming that in to the team.

"Were pleased that we did what we wanted to do today which was to go four points clear and well see what Wednesday brings.

"With Queen of the South only drawing today Falkirk will know that if they win their last two games they could nick a place in the play-off.

"For Falkirk players they are playing for a spot in that final so it will still be a tough game for us next week."
