broxi51 48
Just a suggestion, try him out in the defensive midfield role and haliday more attacking role. i like our defensive lineup but they are needing a more natural dcm player in there to help out, our next transfer target will be a dm I believe
G.E.C. 18,749
I've read he can pick out a pass so wouldn't be against it.
CoplandStandBear 995
What's John Eustace got to say about this? I'd like to see Ball in place of Wilson for a game or two.
plumbGER 24,518
I agree with the Op and maybe this is Mark Warburtons' plan for the second half of the season?I can't imagine Spurs being too happy that he is sitting on the bench up here.I would also like to see young Jordan Thompson get a run out aswell. Bluepeter9 5,167
Or, novelty concept really, but we could also let the manager get on with managing the team? I don't like 'loan' players as a concept - and don't like us playing any loan player in front of one of our own contracted players ( no matter how exciting or good the loanee is) - the thought of playing Ball, a short term loanee, in any position while dropping holt or Wilson just seems daft. AlBear. 8,499
You want us to move a Left Back/Left Midfielder who has been playing well as a Defensive Midfielder and replace him with a Centre Back?Playing players out of their 'natural' positions is for cunts. The two ways you get the jersey off someone is via an injury or showing in training. I am assuming MW feels Ball is not ready yet.

Shiels will be gone next season, he is on far too much money just now, Haliday could be utilised further forward, Ball isnt getting a run at ch, I'm sure the that dm position won't be too alien too him , we have such a high line anyway, there would be minimal space between him and the chs more like a back 3 than anything else. Anyway Im just an armchair manager, and I don't have a magic hat, so what do i know

bluenoz 30,812
Don't like the idea of playing him as a defensive midfielder but have wanted to see him at centre half for a few weeks now. BridgeIsBlue 66,606
Can see Ball starting ahead of Wilson for the next game,I think Danny's a decent centre back but with the football we're playing he needs to work more on his passing.Gave the ball away far too many times yesterday.*edit* forgot the next game is 2 week away. Carsons Army 4,146
I've got a cracking idea. Why not just leave the team as it is and make changes if and when required. The same team that is bringing almost 50,000 fans to Ibrox and battering every team we play against. Why not allow them to Jel, learn each others game and form working partnerships.you can't really improve on a 100% league record.Davie Weir has forgotten more about defending than most of us will ever know, Wilson and Kiernan are W&W's preferred partnership,The midfield central 3 containing Halliday and Holt is the same midfield that dominates games and tires opponents out,The shift that the wee lad Holt puts in should never be underestimated, He make terrific runs and he creates space, When Waghorn comes short or goes wide Holt goes in behind. I would never have the wee man out my team.
