Good Deed! - Fund member Donation - Merchandise for the Fund / Erskine

Fund member ****** has donated a large quantity of Large Rangers Gift Bags (I haven't counted them yet but probably about 80 to 100!)

I haven't collected them yet, but they're probably something like this...

myOaKxWYME_vA_sbRnvnd1w.jpg

Plus he paid quite a lot for postage for them - not just because of their bulky size, but mainly because I gave him the wrong address, they went missing for a month and then got returned to him, then he had to pay the postage again. :(

But we got over those hurdles, and this now means that every diehard Bluenose in our Erskine Homes will get their presents delivered in the best possible bag this Christmas. (tu)

We'll give Erskine as many as they need/want and if there are any left, you may find your next RCF pin badge wrapped in one. :D

So well done to ****** for having the patience to endure my incompetence, and for helping to brighten up another Erskine Christmas.

Good Deed! - Fund Member Donation - Memorabilia for the Fund

******* has generously donated a (multiple) signed shirt for us to auction off later in the year, when funds start getting low. (tu)

As you can see, it's an official one - still got the tag on. (tu)

Cheers ******* - much appreciated.

(Fund Members - If you want to know what we did with those tickets, just PM me. :D )

Good Fortune - Tickets - We won a raffle prize.

Our recent purchase of £70 of Rangers scratchcards from Rangers Development Fund (RDF) got us entry into a prize draw, and we won a pair of tickets for the Hearts game.

We're currently deciding what to do with them.

Hopefully the first of many prizes won by the Fund and its individual members this season. (Scratchcard anyone?) (tu)

Fund Action - Supporting RDF - Bricks and scratchcards

The Fund has purchased the following from Rangers Development Fund at a cost of £150:

  • 2 Ibrox Paving Bricks to be laid in the yet-to-be-announced Jorg Albertz Panel. Total cost: £80
  • 70 Rangers Scratchcards - £1 each. Total cost: £70

We were only going to buy 50 Scratchcards, but we saved £20 on the bricks (through a S/T Holder special offer), so we just bought an extra 20 Scratchcards with it. (tu)

We planned on buying 25 x £2 Rising Stars Half-Time Draw tickets - but they don't go on sale till tomorrow, so we'll get them later in the week.

Fund Action - Tickets for charities - Quarriers Stopover

Bad news: Combat Stress are not able to take our two free tickets, because they are all going to the Armistice Parade in Edinburgh that day. :(

Good News: Quarriers Stopover (supported accommodation in Pollokshaws Road, Glasgow - for 14 young single homeless people aged 16-25) will be happy to take them off our hands (tu)

Bad News: We only have 2 free tickets, but Quarriers could use 6. So...

Fund Action - Tickets for charities - Quarriers Stopover

The RM Sponsors' Fund TEDDY BEARS' FUND has just bought two tickets for the Rangers v Hearts game on Sunday. (cost: £58.00)

EDIT:

One person couldn't make it, so Quarriers party was only 5. So I got a refund (£27) on one of the two tickets.

So the actual cost to the Teddy Bears' Fund is £31 (£27 plus two online booking fees - no refund on the booking fee.)

END EDIT

We will give these tickets to Quarriers Stopover too along with the two free ones we won in the RDF Scratchcard raffle.

Now they only need two more tickets.

So why didn't you just buy another two tickets? I hear you ask. Well...

Good Fortune - Free tickets from Rangers - Rangers v Hearts

I've just opened an email from RDF and it says...

"We have your match tickets for Sunday in the office now - and good news - [the boss] has agreed to give you an extra 2, so the details of the seats for your 4 tickets are below"

I didn't actually ask for an extra two tickets, so obviously our contact in the office has decided to ask for us! Good stuff! :D

So there you go. (tu) That's us now got the 6 tickets for Quarriers.

Fund Action - Supporting Youth Development - Rising Star tickets

The Fund has just bought 25 Rising Stars (half-time raffle tickets) (Cost: £50) for the Rangers v Hearts game.

I won't collect them till just before kick off, so I can't post the numbers here yet.

Fund Action - Supporting RDF - RM Rangers Lotto Group

The Fund has now launched its Rangers Lotto Group.

The Fund has bought 2 Lotto tickets for the next 52 weeks, and 4 members have also bought a ticket for the next 52 weeks (via RM).

Total amount paid to Rangers Lotto today: £312

(£104 from Sponsors' Fund, £208 from individual Fund members)

This is not a syndicate, so any prize won by any member is theirs to keep. The Fund has 2 tickets each week. Anything won by those two tickets belongs to the Fund.)

All proceeds from the Lotto go to Rangers Youth Development.

If you're interested to know more about the Lotto, or are interested in playing in our Group, PM me. (tu)

(It's £1 a week, for as long as you want to do it.)

Fund Action - Supporting RDF - Rising Stars

The Fund bought 25 Rising Stars for the Rangers v Hearts game.

All proceeds from that £50 sale go towards funding Rangers Youth teams. (tu)

Ticket numbers: 01016 - 01040.

We didn't win anything, which is a shame, cos I was looking forward to getting on the pitch at half time to collect our big cheque! :(

I'll upload a pic of the tickets when I get a chance. (tu)

Fund Action - Supporting Rangers and others - Rangers Match Programmes - Quarriers' Stopover

The Teddy Bears' Fund bought 5 match programmes (Rangers v Hearts) for the party from Quarriers.

Total cost: £15

Add this on to the £31 for the ticket (see above for edited post) and that makes it £46 from the Teddy Bears' Fund, leaving it with a new balance of:

£338.74

Fund Action - Supporting Rangers and others - Match Programme Subscriptions for Erskine Homes

The Sponsors' Fund has bought 4 Annual Subscriptions for the official Match Programmes.

So after every home game (league, cups, friendlies) a shiny new Match Programme will be posted directly to each of our 4 Erskine Homes.

The annual match programme subscriptions cost just £49.99 and represent amazing value when you think that you could have as many as 25 or so programmes posted out to you (assuming a few good cup runs and home ties, and maybe a glamour friendly.)

http://www.rangers.c...chday-programme

When you factor out the postage, that works out at about £1 per programme!!!!!

Even if it's only the 18 home league games, that's still working out at just over £1.50 a programme!

Anyway, Every Bear in Erskine (including the Staff!) is now assured their daily dose of Blue Pills for the whole season, and in years to come these programmes will become an integral part of the Erskine Football Memories Therapy Programme.

Though perhaps they might be more suitable for aversion/shock therapy...

"Billy, do you remember that time when Ally was manager?

- Mary! Call another ambulance!"

Anyway, Job well done, I say! (tu)

Total cost: £199.96

Good Deed! - Member Donation - £142 for RDF

A Fund Member (who wishes to remain anonymous) has donated £142 to the Fund (with the express desire that it go towards supporting Youth Development.)

Rather than just put the money into the Fund, I'm keen for this donation to have its own tangible, measurable outcome. So since the best way to benefit RDF is through Brick sales, we'll use this donation to buy another Auchenhowie Fan's Panel (They're £150, so the Fund will chip in £8 (tu) )

We will then offer this Brick to Fund Members at a massive discount (name drawn from a hat the way we did with the Ibrox brick.) thus generating an extra bit of cash to go back to RDF to buy a brick to give away. This could go on forever!

It will be like this panel here. The wording is 3 lines of up to 15 characters each. (tu)
