Popular Post govanblue 16,847
This season, we're going to try to keep a note of all the various good deeds our Fund Members do throughout the season, for each other, for the Fund, for the Club and for our chosen charities, as well as any good fortune that comes our way.I've already forgotten a couple of things, but I've managed to remember one or two, and I'll try to remember to add to it whenever any Good Deeds or Good Fortune arise.PS - "Show us the Deeds!" - there' I've said it - no need for you to post it now. Fund Members' Good Deeds & Good Fortune - 2014/2015Good Deed! - Fund member Donation - Memorabilia for the RM Football Memories Programme (Erskine):eckthebear - RM's Resident match programme expert, has donated a large collection of excellent match programmes as well as magazines from the War and from the 1940s and 50s. These items are wonderfully suited for use in the RM Erskine Football Memories Programme. (Erskine have a dementia therapy programme using old football programmes and photos etc to help elicit memories of happier times. The Fund provides as much material as we can get our hands on to support this programme.)Carol and Colin from Erskine were delighted with the quality (and relevance) of the material and send their thanks to the Fund Members once again. There will be more info on this (including all the photos) once we launch this season's Erskine thread. Thanks to eckthebear for a major contribution worth far more to Erskine for their therapy value than their considerable cash value. govanblue 16,847
Good Deed! - Fund member Donation - Merchandise for the Fund / ErskineFund member ****** has donated a large quantity of Large Rangers Gift Bags (I haven't counted them yet but probably about 80 to 100!)I haven't collected them yet, but they're probably something like this...Plus he paid quite a lot for postage for them - not just because of their bulky size, but mainly because I gave him the wrong address, they went missing for a month and then got returned to him, then he had to pay the postage again. But we got over those hurdles, and this now means that every diehard Bluenose in our Erskine Homes will get their presents delivered in the best possible bag this Christmas. We'll give Erskine as many as they need/want and if there are any left, you may find your next RCF pin badge wrapped in one. So well done to ****** for having the patience to endure my incompetence, and for helping to brighten up another Erskine Christmas. gmcf, cstamomusa and Bears r us

govanblue 16,847
Fund Action - Supporting Rangers and others - Match Programme Subscriptions for Erskine HomesThe Sponsors' Fund has bought 4 Annual Subscriptions for the official Match Programmes. So after every home game (league, cups, friendlies) a shiny new Match Programme will be posted directly to each of our 4 Erskine Homes. The annual match programme subscriptions cost just £49.99 and represent amazing value when you think that you could have as many as 25 or so programmes posted out to you (assuming a few good cup runs and home ties, and maybe a glamour friendly.)http://www.rangers.c...chday-programmeWhen you factor out the postage, that works out at about £1 per programme!!!!!Even if it's only the 18 home league games, that's still working out at just over £1.50 a programme!Anyway, Every Bear in Erskine (including the Staff!) is now assured their daily dose of Blue Pills for the whole season, and in years to come these programmes will become an integral part of the Erskine Football Memories Therapy Programme. Though perhaps they might be more suitable for aversion/shock therapy..."Billy, do you remember that time when Ally was manager?- Mary! Call another ambulance!"Anyway, Job well done, I say! govanblue 16,847
Good Deed! - Member Donation - £142 for RDFA Fund Member (who wishes to remain anonymous) has donated £142 to the Fund (with the express desire that it go towards supporting Youth Development.) Rather than just put the money into the Fund, I'm keen for this donation to have its own tangible, measurable outcome. So since the best way to benefit RDF is through Brick sales, we'll use this donation to buy another Auchenhowie Fan's Panel (They're £150, so the Fund will chip in £8 )We will then offer this Brick to Fund Members at a massive discount (name drawn from a hat the way we did with the Ibrox brick.) thus generating an extra bit of cash to go back to RDF to buy a brick to give away. This could go on forever! It will be like this panel here. The wording is 3 lines of up to 15 characters each.
