Just a suggestion, try him out in the defensive midfield role and haliday more attacking role. i like our defensive lineup but they are needing a more natural dcm player in there to help out, our next transfer target will be a dm I believe

I agree with the Op and maybe this is Mark Warburtons' plan for the second half of the season?

I can't imagine Spurs being too happy that he is sitting on the bench up here.

I would also like to see young Jordan Thompson get a run out aswell.

Or, novelty concept really, but we could also let the manager get on with managing the team?

I don't like 'loan' players as a concept - and don't like us playing any loan player in front of one of our own contracted players ( no matter how exciting or good the loanee is) - the thought of playing Ball, a short term loanee, in any position while dropping holt or Wilson just seems daft.

You want us to move a Left Back/Left Midfielder who has been playing well as a Defensive Midfielder and replace him with a Centre Back?

Playing players out of their 'natural' positions is for cunts.

I thought he came as a defender ... central, but could play left back and midfield if needed?

Not picking the best players available in your squad seems daft, on loan or not. If a loan player has the jersey its up to the other players to get it off him. Best players possible for me.

If the loanees are better than the contracted players I see no issue. No different to having a player on a 12 month contract really.

The problem with loanees is you may just become reliant on them in that position with no one else getting the chance. The two ways you get the jersey off someone is via an injury or showing in training. I am assuming MW feels Ball is not ready yet.

It's a suggestion, not a solution, I think we will buy a long term one. Shiels will be gone next season, he is on far too much money just now, Haliday could be utilised further forward, Ball isnt getting a run at ch, I'm sure the that dm position won't be too alien too him , we have such a high line anyway, there would be minimal space between him and the chs more like a back 3 than anything else.

Anyway Im just an armchair manager, and I don't have a magic hat, so what do i know

Or Mr Warburton does not see Dominic Ball as an option in the position that the OP suggested.

If we are a development club - looking at revenue from transfers - then developing someone else's young player has no benefit to us.

We seem to be setting ourself up as a development club - I don't really see the benefit in develping another clubs player ( after all many on here ( not you) just seem to think any decent player should be able to play, and develop, as long as we have a decent manager :pipe: )

One second you're scalding another poster for second guessing our manager. The next you yourself are second guessing our manager for playing loanees in front of contracted players.

Don't you always bang on about us being a winning club first and foremost when arguing your point against other things? if our best player for that time/game/position is a loanee then just play him as that = best chance of winning.

Yes - I tend to trust managers football knowledge and don't like the clubs philosophy of bringing in loanees - it's not about playing the loanees - it's about having them in the first place

I've got a cracking idea.

Why not just leave the team as it is and make changes if and when required. The same team that is bringing almost 50,000 fans to Ibrox and battering every team we play against.

Why not allow them to Jel, learn each others game and form working partnerships.

you can't really improve on a 100% league record.

Davie Weir has forgotten more about defending than most of us will ever know, Wilson and Kiernan are W&W's preferred partnership,

The midfield central 3 containing Halliday and Holt is the same midfield that dominates games and tires opponents out,

The shift that the wee lad Holt puts in should never be underestimated, He make terrific runs and he creates space, When Waghorn comes short or goes wide Holt goes in behind. I would never have the wee man out my team.

We have three loanees at the moment, and only two are playing regularly, it's hardly a problem ffs.
