If this man was true to his word I could understand him not wearing the poppy, even if personally I find it OTT considering what the poppy is meant to represent.

What disturb's me about this individual is that he probably has no issue with IBM, Coco Cola, Monsanto, German cars/companies, the Catholic Church etc. etc. These groups either profited from the Nazi's, were complicit with the Nazi's or are just intent on fucking up this planet and the lives of people on it. If this man has consistancy in his standards I expect him to be quite scathing of the Irish governments refusal to help in WW2 as well as boycotting and condemning the previous brands. My impression of the man however that he's not in the least bit interested in the wrongs of others, he's an IRA supporter some have said and one of two of his public rows suggest leanings of that sort. So in essence we have a guy who hates Britain, loves Irish republican civilian killers, but who is making a fortune playing in England despite his fairly openly scummy nature.

HERE WE GO MCLEAN PART 1

As the solemn month of remembrance that is November comes to an end it opens up ones mind, once again, to the sheer anti-British self loathing that exists in a very vocal minority of 5th columnists.

Days after remember, remember the 5th of November. The night we rejoice in a Papist, Jesuit terrorist plot to destroy democracy in our great Country the United Kingdom’s formative years being thwarted.

On the 7th of November Wigan Athletic’s Republic of Ireland international winger James McClean refused to wear a poppy on his shirt the rest of his Wigan Athletic team mates, took part in football’s annual Remembrance Day commemoration.

This was a personal decision by James McLean, who explained his position in a letter to Latics Chairman Dave Whelan before the two met face to face to discuss the issue this week.

Now I’m going to say something here.

James McLean has every right to ask not to wear a poppy on his shirt.

And Wigan Athletic Chairman Dave Whelan has every right to terminate his contract.

Instead Dave Whelan is acting like a modern day Neville Chamberlain with James McLeans crayon scribbled piece of paper in his hand.

Lets not Kid ourselves James McLean is a footballing non entity that is on a downward spiral down the Great British leagues.

He would be no great loss.

James McLean is no Ghandi. No Martin Luther King type figure as he would like us to believe.

His refusal to wear a poppy is akin to a white supremacist writing to his chairman saying he wants to abstain from the “Kick Racism out of football” days because Nelson Mandela was co-founder and commander of Umkhonto we Sizwe.

For those that dont know Umkhonto we Sizwe (“Spear of the Nation”) was the terrorist wing of the African National Congress (ANC), South African police statistics indicate that, in the period 1976 to 1986, approximately 130 people were killed by what the source calls ‘terrorists’. Of these, about thirty were members of various security forces and one hundred were civilians. Of the civilians, 40 were white and 60 black.

I had to do a double take that McLean was 25. I thought he must be still a teenager not just by his petulant immature disrespect for one of the United Kingdoms most sacred of events. But also his non-event of career. He seems to only make the headlines by making an utter bigoted arse of himself at this time of year.

Make no mistake James McLean not wearing a poppy is the sort of confrontational gimmicks and gesture politik that has came to represent -the no doubt political party of choice of Mr Mclean- the political wing of Provisional IRA, Sinn Fein.

Not wearing a poppy is a pathetic futile gesture from McLean who no doubt being mediocre part of the mediocre part of the flotsam and jetsam of the footballing world will be on a pretty penny at wigan. Of his weekly wage no doubt to be in the 10s of 1000s of pounds with a sizable chunk of that being collected revenue and customs of the United Kingdom and her Majesty that bigot James McLean clearly has a chip on his shoulders about.

If Mr McLean really wants to make a statement it would be to stop contributing to the British purse and return to the part time pub league of Ireland.

Since Mr McLean has got his crayons the press should ask why he is so willing to wear the IRA symbol of the Lilly?

If wearing a poppy would be seen as he puts it in his letter to Dave Whelan

But the Poppy is used to remember victims of other conflicts since 1945 and this is where the problem starts for me.

For people from the North of Ireland such as myself, and specifically those in Derry, scene of the 1972 Bloody Sunday massacre, the poppy has come to mean something very different. Please understand, Mr Whelan, that when you come from Creggan like myself or the Bogside, Brandywell or the majority of places in Derry, every person still lives in the shadow of one of the darkest days in Ireland’s history – even if like me you were born nearly 20 years after the event. It is just a part of who we are, ingrained into us from birth.

Mr Whelan, for me to wear a poppy would be as much a gesture of disrespect for the innocent people who lost their lives in the Troubles – and Bloody Sunday especially – as I have in the past been accused of disrespecting the victims of WWI and WWII.

It would be seen as an act of disrespect to those people; to my people.

Then why is he so proud to wear the badge of the IRA?

Are these list of victims at the hands of Republican Action Against Drugs (RAAD) from the Creggan estate of Londonderry below not as he would say His people?

2009

16 April: RAAD claimed responsibility for detonating a pipe bomb at a house on Balmoral Avenue, Londonerry.

7 October: RAAD claimed responsibility for kidnapping and shooting a 27-year-old man in the foot in Londonerry.

17 October: RAAD claimed responsibility for shooting a 17-year-old boy in both legs at a house on Virginia Court, Londonerry.

On the 3rd of November 2009 A 23-year-old man was shot in Londonderry’s Creggan Estate. Five men entered the home at Iniscarn Crescent around 8pm and attacked him.

6 December: RAAD claimed responsibility for planting five pipe bombs in Londonerry. Four targeted cars and the fifth was planted behind a house. Three of the bombs exploded.

11 December: RAAD claimed responsibility for kidnapping and shooting two men (aged 29 and 27) in the legs in Londonderry.

2010

27 January: RAAD was blamed for shooting a 52-year-old man in the legs at his shop on Waterloo Street, Londonerry.

Man shot in Creggan 23 February 2010

A TWENTY-NINE-YEAR-OLD has been shot in both legs by paramilitaries in the Creggan area of Londonderry.

Similar attacks in the city over the past year have been variously claimed by the dissident republican group the Real IRA acting under the moniker Oglaigh na hireann, and the group styling itself Republican Action Against Drugs RAAD.

28 March: RAAD claimed responsibility for exploding two pipe bombs in Londonerry. One exploded in a van on High Park and another exploded in a car on Carrickreagh Gardens.

8 June: RAAD claimed that it held a “show of strength” in the Creggan area of Londonderry. RAAD members allegedly searched a row of shops before firing 80 shots in the air using automatic weapons.

25 June: RAAD were blamed for exploding a pipe bomb at the front door of a house on Hawthorn Drive, Londonderry.

26 July: RAAD claimed responsibility for raiding a house in Dunmore Gardens, Londonderry. Four men entered the house (which was occupied) and fired shots before leaving.

31 August: RAAD claimed responsibility for firing shots at a house in Dove Gardens, Londonderry. When the PSNI responded to the incident they were attacked with petrol bombs and other missiles.

18 September: A RAAD member fired warning shots during a disturbance on Bligh’s Lane, Londonderry. A news report claimed that shots were fired at a group of youths, but RAAD claimed the shots had been fired “over their heads”.

17 October: RAAD claimed responsibility for shooting a 20-year-old man in the legs at his home in Slievemore Park, Londonerry.

23 October: RAAD claimed responsibility for shooting a 20-year-old man as he delivered food to a house in Creggan Heights, Londonderry. He was hit six times in the legs.

21 November: RAAD were blamed for exploding a pipe bomb inside Jose Santos, a Portuguese national car at Cromore Gardens, Londonderry.

2 June: RAAD claimed responsibility for detonating a small bomb at the door of a house on Lecky Road, Londonderry. Shrapnel went through two nearby windows but there were no injuries.[64] The group apologized for “causing any distress”. On 7 July, it claimed responsibility for shooting a 36-year-old man in the legs at a house on the same road.

17 November: RAAD claimed responsibility for shooting a 61-year-old man at a house in Ballyarnet, Londonderry. Three days later, it claimed responsibility for shooting a 22-year-old man in the legs at a house on Creggan Road in the city.

13 December: RAAD was blamed for shooting two men, one of whom is a nephew of Martin McGuinness, in the legs at High Park, Derry.

In November 2011 a 22 year old Man was shot in both legs paramilitary style attack in Creggan Hill, Londonderry.

The parents of some children who were playing nearby said the gunmen threatened to shoot them.

“The wee ones were all out in the street, and two men in masks came out from the laneway and one of the wee boys said, ‘Are you a robber’?

“He said the man in the balaclava replied ‘Aye, get out of my way or I’ll kill you’, and then they ran off round the backs of the houses.”

26 April 2012: In Londonderry, a mother was forced to bring her 18-year-old son to be shot in the legs by members of RAAD/IRA. Two days later, about 200 people attended an anti-RAAD rally in the city.

On the 22nd of July 2012. A man was shot in the legs in Londonderry’s Creggan area.

The 31-year-old victim was injured outside a house in Kildrum Gardens at around 10.50pm on Sunday.

In May 2013 Sean McFadden, 19, who turned up by appointment with his cousin to be shot in both legs in March the year before took his own life.

Sean McFadden suffered gunshot wounds after being brought to an agreed location in the city to face Republican Action Against Drugs.

The 19-year-old and his cousin were shot in the double so-called “punishment shooting.” The pair were among dozens of young men in the city shot, beaten or exiled at gunpoint from the city over the last two years by the armed vigilante group.

The circumstances behind his shooting last year provoked protests in the city after it emerged that his father had been forced to take McFadden to a spot in Derry’s Bogside, where his son was shot in both legs.

The McFadden family said at the time they believed he had been targeted because of a “drunken row” with local republicans outside a pub in Londonderry’s Creggan area.

The Creggan Community Collective has issued a statement expressing their condolences to the McFadden family.

“Again, unfortunately we have lost another person in our community, young Sean McFadden took his life at the age of 19 last night. We can’t even convey our condolences with the family. It is time for our community to come together in realisation of this issue and prevent another family going through this toughest of traumas,” the community group said.

26 March 2014: A small bomb exploded in a car parked outside a house in the Creggan area of Londonderry. The blast wrecked the car but caused no injuries. SDLP politician Pat Ramsey said the attack bore the hallmarks of RAAD.

In June 2014 Gareth Fisher was the victim of a paramilitary style attack in the Rathlin Drive area of Creggan. The 18-year-old son was shot five times in the legs.

RAAD was comprised of many former IRA members and has joined a new anti-ceasefire hardline republican alliance this year known as the New IRA — the main dissident republican terror group in Ireland.

Are these victims from the Creggan estate of Londonderry not “His people”?

Is this the environment you want “my daughter to grow up in a peaceful world, like any parent.”

Does James McLean not see these organisations who all “proudly” wear the badge of the IRA lilly as legitimate Irish republican’s?

If so James McLean should get his crayons out and say so publicly and disown these criminal gangs publicly!

Better still why doesnt he go to one of the many republican slop houses in the Creggan and say so!

22 February Aldershot bombing – seven people were killed by an Official IRA bomb at Aldershot Barracks in England. It was thought to be in retaliation for Bloody Sunday. Six of those killed were female ancillary workers and the seventh was a Roman Catholic padre.

1974

4 February M62 coach bombing – 12 people were killed by an IRA bomb planted on a coach carrying British soldiers and their families.

17 June The Provisional IRA bombed the Houses of Parliament in London, injuring 11 people and causing extensive damage.

5 October Guildford pub bombings – Four soldiers and one civilian were killed by PIRA bombs at two pubs in Guildford, England.

21 November Birmingham pub bombings – 21 civilians were killed by PIRA bombs at pubs in Birmingham, England.

22 December The Provisional IRA announced a Christmas ceasefire. Prior to ceasefire, they carried out a bomb attack on the home of former Prime Minister Edward Heath. Mr Heath was not in the building at the time and no one was injured.

5 September Two killed and 63 injured when a bomb was detonated in the lobby of London’s Hilton Hotel.

1979

30 March Airey Neave, Conservative was assassinated . A bomb exploded in his car as he left the Palace of Westminster in London. The Irish National Liberation Army (INLA) later claimed responsibity for the assassination.

1982

20 July Hyde Park and Regents Park bombings – 11 British soldiers and seven military horses died in Provisional IRA bomb attacks on Regent’s Park and Hyde Park, London. Many spectators were badly injured.

1983

17 December Harrods bombing – a Provisional IRA car bomb killed three policemen and three civilians and injured ninety outside a department store in London.

1984

12 October Brighton hotel bombing – the Provisional IRA carried out a bomb attack on the Grand Hotel, Brighton, which was being used as a base for the Conservative Party Conference. Five people, including MP Sir Anthony Berry, were killed. Margaret and Denis Thatcher narrowly escaped injury.

1989

22 September Deal barracks bombing – 11 Royal Marine’s bandsmen were killed by the Provisional IRA at Deal Barracks in Kent, England.

1990

20 July The Provisional IRA bombed the London Stock Exchange.

1991

18 February A Provisional IRA bomb exploded in a litter bin at Victoria Station, London, killing David Corner, and injuring 38. Since that time, there have been no litter bins anywhere on the station platform.

15 November A provisional IRA bomb exploded in St Albans City Centre. Two fatalities, both members of the provisional IRA (Patricia Black and Frankie Ryan), were the only casualties.

1992

10 April Baltic Exchange bombing – a van loaded with one-ton of home-made explosives went off outside the building of the Baltic Exchange company, at 30 St Mary Axe, London, killing three people and injuring other 91. The Provisional IRA bomb caused £800 million worth of damage, £200 million more than the total damage caused by the 10,000 explosions that had occurred during the Troubles in Northern Ireland up to that point.

20 March Warrington bomb attacks – after a telephoned warning, the Provisional IRA exploded two bombs in Cheshire, England. Two children were killed and 56 people were wounded. There were widespread protests in Britain and the Republic of Ireland following the deaths.

24 April Bishopsgate bombing – after a telephoned warning, the Provisional IRA exploded a large bomb at Bishopsgate, London. It killed one civilian, wounded 30 others, and caused an estimated £350 million in damage.

1996

9 February London Docklands bombing – the Provisional IRA bombed the Docklands in London. The bomb killed two civilians, and brought to an end the ceasefire after 17 months and nine days.

15 June Manchester bombing – the Provisional IRA exploded a bomb in Manchester, England. It destroyed a large part of the city centre and injured over 200 people. To date, it is the largest bomb to be planted on the British mainland since the second world war. The devastation was so great, that several buildings were damaged beyond repair, and had to be demolished.

2001

4 March BBC bombing – a Real IRA bomb exploded outside BBC Television Centre, causing some damage to the building.

3 August Ealing bombing – a Real IRA car bomb injured seven civilians in Ealing, west London.

If James McLean does or doesn’t think the IRA Lilly represents these atrocities in the country’s Football League that provides him a living. Then Once again he must get his crayons out and tell the Great British public why he wears it and what it represents.

Or does he only wear it only for “de Ol’ IRA”

The fact is that Celtic being the only team in Great Britain not to wear a poppy on their shirts is without doubt a top down policy from the board. This was brought into stark realization with the sight of Neil Lennon -who is from the same rabid Irish Republican background as McLean- not only wearing the poppy on the night James McLean refused but in the weeks leading up to remembrance day.

Also wearing a poppy that night at the Bolton v Wigan game was the then manager of Wigan Uwe Rösler. Uwe Rösler a German Could easily refused to wear a poppy and bear a grudge against the country he works in.

Instead having been a fan of English football from his childhood, Rösler claimed that he found his “home” in England during his time with Manchester City, and described the formation of his bond with the City fans as the “biggest achievement in my career”.

Uwe Rösler like James McClean was born and brought up in an anti-British/anti-Western environment. In Rösler case it was under the Communist regime of East Germany instead of the facist IRA murder and Rapist terror gangs of Nationalist council estate’s. Infact during his time at Lokomotive Leipzig Rösler was interviewed by the Stasi secret police organisation, who attempted to force him to inform on colleagues seeking to defect to the West in exchange for the Stasi allowing him to continue his fledgling football career unimpeded.
