The Work To Beat Hearts Starts Now.

We have a week to get ready for what is now the most vital game of the season.

We put one marker down against Hibs last week, important to send another message next week.

If the players are not bursting their balls during training next week, and we do not get the Stadium sold out, then we do not deserve anything out of the season.

Let us get the battle fever on Gers.

Think I would go with the same team as today. Harsh on Harris but I like the moment of miller and clark. I guess you could put him in for shiels but that might be too attacking

Shiels was poor today, but perhaps lack of match time is the reason. Obviously Vuckic seems to be the preferred option at the moment, however I can understand the argument for keeping him on the bench. Seems to be developing a nice habit of making a major impact coming off the bench.

Not important to beat Hearts imo, but important to play decently.

We will now gain enough points from remaining 6 (?) games against other teams to gain second.

More important is to get a settled, confident, goalscoring team for the play-offs.

(Although saying that I am expecting (and would be happy with) 2 or 3 points from the two Hearts games.)

|Two of those games are against Hearts. I would suggest that beating them at least once is quite important.

Which is why I suggested I would be happy with 2 points (two draws, no losses) or three points (one win,one loss).

Anything else a bonus. We will still end up second regardless.

The real test will come in the play-offs.

(I still expect we will remain unbeaten under McCall to end of league season.)

Fair enough, I just think that we need to get the momentum going for the run in, get the winning habit going to carry us through to whoever we have to beat from the Prem to get up.

I've got no anger towards Cowdenbeath fans, the Jambos deserve it however after their pish at the last game at Ibrox.

Given the way that Hearts have skooshed things this season then I feel that we cannot be too upset at their fans having a wee gloat. It will make beating them next week and shutting them up all the more sweeter. Nicky Law hit the nail on the head, let them enjoy their moment in the sun, it will be brief.

To give some credit to hearts, they are a decent team, playing confident attacking football, and will probably be finding it even easier to play confident attacking football, with nothing to lose.

Both games will be a good chance to gauge how good each will be next year, and will be a genuine test of our current team's and managers abilities. Looking forward to both.

As I stated before, I actually believe they will not beat us in either.

I don't see these games as an accurate measuring gauge. It would be good if we could win them, and it would certainly be a boost for us after the way this season has went.

But they're going to be playing without any pressure with the league now over for them - I'm not sure these games will tell us too much about how next season will play out though.
