There was Leonard, Hearns, Hagler and Duran fighting at this time, who did you rate as the best and why ? JamieD 18,893 Posted September 13, 2014 Share Posted September 13, 2014 If Duran had done what Leonard did and retired early, after he beat Leonard in 1980, he'd be considered the greatest lightweight of all-time, with a welterweight cherry on top. Like a lot of fighters he didn't know when to stop. Even then, his win over Iran Barkley at middleweight in '89 was an amazing achievement.
