Creampuff 22,628
Hazelwood impressed me today. It's a lazy comparison for an Aussie seamer of his ilk, but he's a bit of a hybrid of a McGrath and a Stuart Clark. He's metronomic and finds his line and length consistently. He'll take wickets for a long time.Starc struggled at times, but takes wickets when he gets it right. He'll probably have a session in this series where he takes 4 or 5 quick wickets. He'll probably go a full day in the field without taking anything in the same match
dummiesoot 16,005
No surprise most Aussie damage was done at the start of the match and with the new ball late in the day, new ball pitch and conditions.
TEFTONG 60,097
Root saved the Test today..He is really maturing as a Test Batsman..I'm looking forward to Jimmy getting that new ball in his hand, Hopefully England are 400+ and can get stuck in to the top order of the Aussies..So interesting to see how ineffective Johnson is in England..Now that iv'e posted that he will run amok the rest of the Series.. Johnson is not a bowler that generally wipes out the main batsmen, great at dismantling lower order, certainly against England in Aus that is how it panned out. Creampuff 22,628
Johnson's been deliberately disadvantaged by the pitch at Cardiff. They've slowed it to neutralise his and Starc's pace.He didn't bowl particularly well, but his bouncers were well directed. I think he and Hazelwood will polish off the England tail quickly this morning.
TEFTONG 60,097
I just got in from my work and I am pleasantly surprised that England are defending 280 with the Aussies 2 Wickets down. Rodgers one of only 5 Batsmen to score 7 Fifties in a row..??..He is pivotal to the Aussie Innings, But they do bat deep don't they??..
plymouthranger 3,872
Boycott called it perfectly, Rogers is a great batsman, but he'll never be someone who scored centuries. Plays himself into the crease, then seems to lose concentration once he's hit
AlBear. 8,499
This is where they needed Rashid IMO.As it stands England on top, but they have a history of allowing tails, particularly Aussie ones, to wag. They should be looking to clean them up for at least an 80 lead.
Creampuff 22,628
At close Australia are 264-5. They trail by 166.Shane Watson (29) and Nathan Lyon (6) will continue tomorrow morning with Haddin, Johnson, Starc, and Hazelwood to come. England's day, the game drifting to the England-or-Draw scenario.

sandyinroyalblue 16,478
England bowled well today, kept their discipline and bowled to a plan so they're slightly ahead of the Aussies right now but there's not much in it.
sandyinroyalblue 16,478
Aussies all out for 308.England by lead by 122The Aussie bowlers will need to bowl out England for under 200 to give them any chance of getting back in the test.

Creampuff 22,628
Australia shocking with the bat that full innings tbh. Gave most of the wickets away.
Creampuff 22,628
Cook falls to Starc just before lunch and Ballance goes for a duck just after.Lyth has looked like he's trying his hardest to get out, but somehow still has his wicket England 22-2 (Effectively 144-2). Creampuff 22,628
I'm stunned Josh Hazelwood was being talked about as if he might not have played this match. He's an outstanding seamer.

Creampuff 22,628
Realistically Australia need to bowl England out for less than 200 to have a chance.

AlBear. 8,499
Get another 100 today and put them in. Won't happen but no one chases 400 in the fourth innings. Looks like a bit of a washout Sunday, so a day and a half to bowl them out.
Creampuff 22,628
Start of Day 4. Australia chasing 412 to win.
Creampuff 22,628
Joe Root drops Chris Rogers at third slip. Very similar chance to the catch he took to get Starc in the first innings, probably slightly easier. Three overs gone. AUS 6-
Creampuff 22,628
WICKET!Rogers c Bell b Broad 10Just as England were starting to look a little twitchy, Rogers edges one to Bell at second slip. Third umpire checks if it carries, not sure why because it clearly did. Big break through, out comes the ICC #1.AUS 19-
