The Next Rangers Manager Thread.......

Recommended Posts

So guys who do we think it will be?

At the moment I reckon its between Stuart McCall, Billy Davies (both without a club) and possibly Derek McInnes now that they are out of "the title race" I could see him coming just now as it may be his only chance of managing us which I'm sure he wants.

What your thoughts?

He would be my first choice.

I think he would come now, we need to give sheep some compo but shouldn't be a problem for king if everything goes OK for Friday

Agreed i think he'd jump at the chance. Once a manager wants to leave it's pointless trying to hold on to them.

Where is the money for the compensation coming from? There will still be the same amount left in the bank when King gets in

I like McInnes but I'm not sure he's going to provide more value for money than somebody else who would cost less will this time around.

We could pick somebody up of similar ability without having to pay the level of compensation that we would have to pay Aberdeen for him.

Possibly, but he knows the teams would be up against , he knows the club, he knows the situation we are in and what has happened over that last few years and knows what going on with the fans, that counts for a lot. Getting a young English or foreign manager in isn't the answer IMO.

Walter Smith to steady the team and steer it to the end of the season - he is the only one I can think of that could take the current bunch of players and somehow turn them into a team that understands what it needs to do to win promotion and then do it. Once the outcome of the season is known then it its the Championship again then first choice would be McInnes if affordable but if not then McCall. Realistically it would be McCall since he is available and no compensation fee payable bearing in mind we still have to pay for McCoist until Dec

Can't ask Walter again , he wouldn't do it anyway

McInnes Or McCall . One of them two I want . I dunno about cathro. Yes he might have good reputation . If I mind right PLG had good reputation look how that turned out. I would like someone who has managed a team and cathro has not done that .

McCall also ticks all of those boxes and we aren't going to have to buy out two and half years of a contract to get him.

McCall the obvious choice no compensation, if he does well reward him with another year.
