We're Carrying Too Much Baggage.

The Widow's Son

While I expected a poor performance from the worst Rangers team I can ever remember watching, I can accept that given our situation. However, I was less than happy with the fans response (and I have put the tin hat on, fully expecting some flak on this one).

I like traditions and I embrace them often. Tradition will always have a prominent position in my life and in my club.

But I was embarrassed by too many of our songs today. I'm sure that I'm not the only one. Even the today's DR online version comments on our inappropriate songs. The SFA may fine us and I'm sure we can ill afford a fine from them.

As I said, I have put on the tin hat and expect flak on this one.

Our songs are all we have left of our traditions.

Our squad is filled with pish

Our coaching staff are dross

Our boardroom is howling

So take your 'baggage' and ram it.

I'm proud of our fans and let them sing till their voices give out.

No surrender

To be honest i might have agreed with you a few years ago.

However, with everyone else getting away scot free and singing whatever the hell they want (or being allowed to bring in banners - there is no way police Scotland should have let that tims banner in today) then i say, let folk sing whatever the fuck they want.

The football sectarianism act (or whatever you want to call it) is clearly a tool to try and remove all our traditions, while allowing the mhanky mob to continue to spread their own terrorist agenda.

Get the songs sung, and stand up for what you beleive in, otherwise we are lost as a fanbase.

I wasn't "offended" just disappointed by the poor performance and embarrassed by some of the "traditional" songs our support sing. I freely admit that in my youth and maybe even a little beyond, I have sang sectarian songs. However, it was a different world then (1960's/1970's). A little disappointed that any critical remark unleashes accusations that I'm not a loyal Rangers fan.

Cheering for the blues and singing the blues in British Columbia.
