Beer For Armed Forces Day

Recommended Posts

Where from? Money go to charity?

Marston's Brewery.

5p per bottle goes to Help for Heroes...

It is on sale in 250 Tesco stores across the UK, priced at £1.97 with five pence from the sale of each bottle going to Help for Heroes to support injured members of the Armed Forces and their families.

Off an a tangent here and each to there own but on a personal level I always prefer to give to the official army charities like the ABF, Wings for the Raf etc

A tangent indeed. :P

Buying a beer is not the same decision process as donating to a charity.

If the beer stands up on its own merits, then why not? :beer1:

Why come on a thread just to negative have you volunteered to collectively on Forces Day?

Why not give your fiver to charity, and then buy a couple bottles of this, and if you like it buy more?

Why do Rangers fans always need to cause division with every issue?

Even better why not give the beer a miss and give all of the cash to the charity rather than a miserly 5p.

Don't listen to him folks - once you've donated to your chosen Armed Forces charities, treat yourself to a beer (any beer you like). (tu)

If you like beer, why not treat yourself to one for each of the Armed Forces Charities you support. Think of it as a salute.

5p is absolutely shocking

It's not great is it?

But I'm guessing that after heavy tax duties, and supermarket price squeezes, a typical brewer makes very little profit per bottle of beer sold.

It's maybe more about raising the profile of the charity. Like the way it prompted me to google it, and then post the link above.

Cant argue with that. (tu)

The ABF was good to us as a family when my father was caught in a booby trap explosion which killed two of his colleagues and left him deaf in one ear, as I said each to there own
