Under mccalls reign.

13 points dropped. Yes, going forward we look better than under ally, but we are so error prone at the back.

Inexcusable.

No need for an excuse when Jig is in defence, it is plainly obvious why we ship so many goals.

on one hand you have to say "well it isnt mccalls team, you'd think he'd bin most if not all of them and start again"

however the stats are terrible, the two wins over hibs and hearts meant absolutely fuck all in the end, and can be put down to new manager syndrome in the team, also mccall is making a rod for his own back with his continued use of a system that didnt work and players that are quite frankly not good enough for the championship nevermind rangers

when QotS gubbed us mccall was maybe on the brink back then, but he seen what went wrong and changed it the next game and we won at a canter 4-0 against a team that has given us trouble before, but then he goes and changes it again, and we drop points left right and centre

mccall didnt have time to fuck about, he had to find a winning system and twice he done it only to change it next game and see us drop points in highly important games

i dont think he's our long term answer, however i think he will get the job purely down to finances, the board wont have put any money in by time we need to make a decision

He's made some strange decisions and bringing McCulloch on today reeked of the old boys club.

He hasn't convinced me he's the right man for the job but I suppose finances and circumstances will dictate to a greater degree.

If cheap, needless, embarrassing goals cannot be stopped because the Manager and coaches fail to select a defence and organise a defence to stop giving these sorts of goals away then there is only one outcome - you don't win promotion. The other teams know they can score against us home and away. And more than once. They know our strikers are goal shy. Its not too hard to conclude that the competition will have no concerns whatsoever about playing Rangers.

How different that might have been if the Manager - on appointment - made the biggest priority to be sorting out a defence that defends properly and as a Rangers team with the resources available should defend. McCall has not done this. He has not even looked like he was doing this. Persistently playing McCulloch produced and still produces a big weakness which other teams can exploit. Nor has he done enough to reduce the risk of giving away goals against set pieces.

Luck. Promotion this season will rely on a big sprinkling of luck in each game. Because the team sure as fuck are not showing anywhere near enough skill, tactical nous, determination, willingness to win to carry us through. I sure would hope they play much much better in the play offs but the evidence in McCall's time is not encouraging.

Even Sir Alex couldn't turn this shower into a proper team.

They have proved time and time again that they don't have the heart, the bottle and the workrate, however they keep getting chances to show their worth.

Last chance saloon now lads.

He has inherited a squad of useless spineless duds but his record is poor too.

He chops and changes the team regularly and he has made a number of strange decisions.

For me...Show him the door in the summer (even if we do go up).

He new exactly what he was taking on and must have been happy to do so

As far as I am concerned he takes responsibility and he can't hide behind the players he's inherited, dead right get shot of him he's a chancer

Certainly better than AMcC , but good enough full time ? I'm not so sure.

He / we had it in our hands to get 2nd and ultimately failed. Like McCoist before him , he had the players that should have been more than capable of beating QoS , livi or Falkirk lately and couldn't. He now has 6 ( hopefully ) cup finals to at least be considered full time.

Made a rock for his own back persisting with McCulloch, would like to know how many goals and points that has cost us and where we would be positioned otherwise.

We would have beaten Falkirk last week probably and seen out todays game, that's just recent as well and not going back far.

He deserves to go for that crap alone.

Im on the fence with McCall.

But how many managers can we go through? What if McCall makes new signings in the summer and were still pish under him? Do we pay him off then bring in another manager who will be left with a squad he didnt pick? It feels like a never ending cycle.

Im starting to think its not just the manager thats the problem here its the entire system at Auchenhowie or something. We should bring someone in who can make some 5 year plan for us and sort our entire football program out because its obviously a shambles at Murray Park.

I'm caught in two minds with mccall. I genuinely believe we play the better, more attractive football however our defensive frailties are are evident as ever. Would he do better with improved players?

I'm sure he would , particularly a team he's chosen himself.

However , the players he's had at his disposal should have been good enough to beat the likes of QoS , livi and Falkirk at Ibrox.

You're right though , there's certainly been an improvement , but enough to warrant a full time position ?

I'm not so sure.
