Superb77-78 Won the treble again with mostly the same players. It does not get any better. No real foreign players, Rangers fans wearing Rangers strips. Fantastic. tannerall 25,935
Not the most successful at the beginning but the 70s was my favourite. Would love to have seen whether our early 1960s teams with Jim Baxter or 1920s teams with Alan Morton were possibly the greatest ever.

foghorn leghorn 608
Season 92-93.I remember we wouldn't sign Gary McAllister because he was old at 28 years and he went on to win the Uefa Cup with Liverpud.
legalbeagle 3,734
92-93 was the best I have ever seen us as a team. My favourite player by a million miles was Laudrup just a couple of years later. The 90s were the glory days, and I felt like the moment we changed was that last 12 minute comeback against Marseille, we went from not good enough to contenders in just a handful of minutes that night. scottyscott1963 17,995
Has to be the early to mid sixties for me. Favourite player was Dave Smith and he was unlucky we had the best on the planet at the time with Jim Baxter. The ECWC final would have to be my favourite game,if only for the whole crazy trip by bus which took in a whole week there and back.

strikemaster 21
when the team returned from the Russian tour there were thousands at the airport to greet them, sensing a new beginning away from the old iron curtain, they were not disappointed. Scot Symon had transformed them into a football -playing team extraordinary! Jimmie Millar, surely one of the most under-rated Scottish (never mind rangers) players, only dodgy knees stopped him from gaining many Scottish caps, transformed from an average mid-fielder (right-half)to a brilliant centre-forward he led a legendary forward -line, it was a dream watching the team in those days playing brilliant football. only bad luck with injuries prevented them in Europe in the early days. Guest
Would have to be early 90's for me, so many heros, so many legendary games. We were an absolutely massive Club in the 90s

Guest
and we still areWe are but things were a lot different back then. Nothing seemed impossible, I bet there was loads of Bears who genuinely believed we'd win a Euro competition in that decade. I remember folk used to say "if players like McCoist etc are so good then how come they never signed to the likes of Man U or Barca" and its because int he early 90s we were as big if not bigger than Man U and going from Rangers to Man U wasnt a big step up or anything. We are a massive Club but we arent really important in the grand scheme of things any more like we were in the 90s. Scottish Football is completely irrelevant.
