So Much For Not Allowing Free Entry For Season Tickets

Rangers were not allowed to let season ticket holders in for free because it would have deprived the SPFL of the funds yet Hibs and Motherwell are allowed not to sell tickets which has the same result of depriving the SPFL of funds.

This is the reason our club should be challenging it.

As an aside, the Board allocation of tickets has not been cut yet some fans who did not boycott the team and supported the team from day 1 this season are likely to miss out.

Only in Scotland and our laughing stock of a game.

How do they differentiate from those who boycotted and those who never ? I never missed a match in 2008 and never got a ticket for the UEFA cup final through my season ticket, I got one elsewhere. Its the way the cookie crumbles when tickets are being distributed. Im sure there will be people at Fir park who dont have season books or go to many games, its the same every big game.

Wouldn't bother challenging it, it's already been widely reported how insane it is. Good luck to them, is there a legal requirement to give away fans any allocation? Hopefully we won't play either team in the league next year but I'd give them no tickets for any upcoming games between the teams.

We cant possibly play them in the league next season as this is a playoff to see who goes into what league

At the very least Rangers should be asking why we were not allowed to not charge season ticket holders but clubs are allowed to not sell tickets.

Different stance but same outcome in that ticket income is reduced.

The spineless SFA and SPFL should also be taken to task for allowing clubs to act in this manner when clubs are apparently desparate for fans and income.

The argument will fail on the same grounds that we had discretion to set low prices which cost them a hell of a lot more than Motherwell's petty decision

see rules

Admission Prices, Admission to Grounds and Ticket Distribution

I26 The Home Club, in its absolute discretion, shall determine admission charges for League Matches and Play-Off Matches.

I27 The Home club must make provision for the admission of such reasonable number of visiting supporters at every home League Match and Play-Off Match as may be agreed in advance with the Visiting Club and, in the event of their being unable to agree such number not later than 14 days prior to the date of the League Match or Play-Off Match in question, the number of visiting supporters allowed shall be determined by the Board whose decision shall be final and binding.

I28 A section of the ground must be reserved for supporters of the Visiting Club and any tickets for League Matches and Play-Off Matches must be distributed on that basis. Details of these arrangements should be publicised by the Clubs concerned in advance.

It all falls down to what is defined as a reasonable number and I don't see them siding with us in the argument

It's the boycotters who got Ally McCoist out of Ibrox and allowed for Dave King to gain control in the boardroom. If anything, the boycotters should be the ones getting the preferential treatment.
