berkshirebear 2,771
How are this two not in the Scotland team ahead of Martin and May!
Clemdog 39,389
Stevie May isn't that bad. Martin is woeful though. Has Ross McCormack not been rotten at Fulham? Rhodes I agree.
berkshirebear 2,771
Why do Scotland always seem to have fall outs/issues with our best players? It doesnt seem to happen in England or any other country I know of.
IpswichGer 3,758
Martin was a waste of a jersey. Unsurprisingly we looked better when he went off.Relying on Fletcher like we did with Miller is not an option so desperately need to identify more options up front. TheKingObv 10,639
We missed Fletcher and Snodgrass
AGM_72 3,604
I'm not convinced by either of them.I'm also not certain on the particular statistics but while Rhodes is a prolific goalscorer I think his work ethic and link up play as a lone striker isn't what Strachan is looking for. McCormack is another one who just doesn't seem to fit his system, methods or team.I don't disagree Martin isn't really up to the standard though. Da Kool Blue 139
I think May has more to his game than Rhodes, especially his link up play and his pace.As for McCormack, I see him as a similar role to Naismith, only not as good. NixonRFC 1,309
Rhodes can do something no other Scottish striker looks capable doing and thats score goals

Bothwellbear 1,392
We missed miller up front big time. He tore them a new one at Wembley (well kind of)
graeme_4 34,352
Rhodes can do something no other Scottish striker looks capable doing and thats score goalsRhodes is like a more advanced version of Boyd. Can finish well, but can't play up front on his own, can't hold the ball up and doesn't fit into the system Strachan is playing. If we ever go to a traditional 4-4-2 I think he'd be involved. folkestoneger 8,084
Rhodes can do something no other Scottish striker looks capable doing and thats score goalsRhodes isn't a Scottish striker. He is an English striker who qualifies to appear for Scotland under a fkin ridiculous rule that should be scrapped. He will never be Scottish anymore than I will be English and I have lived down here a lot longer than his visit to Scotland
FlippinEck 3,702
Martin's hold up play is brilliant but I haven't really seen that much else of him to be able to judge. He did score a lot of goals last year did he not?

King Jela 20,360
May's a good player, think Rhodes should be ahead of him though. Don't see it with McCormack at all tbh. Flashes of skill here and there but not consistent or even good enough to start for Scotland.
