To me, he's the best player on the planet. An absolute joy to watch and he's still only 28. Can't believe I'm agreeing with you again but have to agree. Stevie G is the best midfielder in the world and has been for a few years in my book. A player who has it ALL, absolutely everything. Nah. He isn't a great central midfield player. He just roams about. He ain't no Paul Scholes. lol. Scholes in fantastic, wouldn't disagree with that. Great footballer but come on chief better than Stevie G??.... Turn it up guv for fucks sake. Gerrard is one of the best midfielders and players in the world now, but I think that in his peak Scholes was better. Not at all. A Gerrard at his peak (if he's even reached it yet, that is) would by my choice any day of the week. Scholes tackling and heading were woeful, as is his discipline on occasions. Agreed... bought players like pellegrino, kromkamp and le tallec, didnt help the team what so ever. Now he is buying proper players and getting the best out of them.
