King Deal Is Off The Table

OCTOBER 23, 2014 / BILLMCMURDO

The proposed Dave King deal at Ibrox has fallen through.

No agreement could be reached and it is understood Rangers CEO Graham Wallace couldn’t recommend the proposal to the board without proof of funds, answers to legal questions about SFA and AIM “fit and proper” status in relation to Dave King and a failure to identify Murray and Letham’s backers.

There was no meeting in Glasgow as reported by the media and Dave King is believed to be headed back to South Africa.

This means that any solution to cash flow issues at Ibrox will have to be found without King’s involvement.

Dave King should be commenting shortly to confirm he is out of the picture.

I just heard Richard Wilson reading the part of the statements that suited him, but the bottom line is that King has not said he's giving up on this, he's just waiting on what Easdale's decision will be. Where did this 'deal off' come from anyway?

@SkySportsNewsHQ: BREAKING: Dave King fails to reach agreement with @RangersFC board over proposed £16million cash injection. #SSNHQ

So who is telling porkies, daft media who dont really know anything and probably guessing or Dave King who releases a positive statement? I know who I choose to believe.

If the deal was still on King would still be here. The current board (under instruction from the share holders) have put up some conditions and they know that King will not choose to meet those conditions or cannot meet those conditions. The SFA fit and proper test. Some AIM fit and proper requirements. Who Kings backers are.

Now it may well be the board argues this is a perfectly reasonable thing to do or they may be at it. Who knows.

i believe the conditions ie proof of funding are a legal requirement of any board, not just something they can put in to put an investor off. It is their legal obligation to ask this or they will be held accountable to this by the law
