Ibrox Atmosphere

Recommended Posts

The atmosphere is terrible.

Its sad our Club is being utterly controlled and our fans are being utterly and totally controlled by pathetic rules, which is allowed in Rugby in this Country.

Sick of it.

The lack of atmosphere at Ibrox has nothing to do with rules. A support spoiled by previous success that just groans , moans and boos its own players.

Shit football, not knowing what is going on at the club, a serious lack of direction for us all to get behind....

Three years of purgatory, where there wasn't anything to get worked up over, has meant we are out of the habit.

Low crowds for most of this season put the tin lid on.

I know it's been deteriorating for longer, but it will be hard to raise it next year.

What do you guys honestly think of it? Honestly gets me down a bit how stale and flat it is, and it has been that way for years with the exception of old firm or champions league games.

Its not just Ibrox its the whole of Scottish football as the heart has been and continues to be ripped out of it. The tattie dome is like a library with sections closed off to the publc and they are winning trebles, oh wait.:)

The hearts game was a brill atmosphere a bit of rivalry.

But does not help when the team are on the field ready to kick off when the DJ ..plays penny arcade.

Even though I prefare simply the best.

As soon as everyone starts singing the whistle goes and they shut up and sit down.

Even a "good" atmosphere these days like vs Hearts is nothing like it used to be.

I think it would be better if either the singing sections moved to seperate areas of the stadium, and maybe tried singing songs that people actually like. I was in the main stand vs Raith, the UBs spent about 20 mins singing the same songs over and over that no one other then them know the words to and most people dislike, if people arent joining in after 10 mins maybe try singing another song. Or try singing songs that people actually know the words to. You could actually hear people shouting abuse at them saying to shut it etc, which surprised me a bit but its the first time ive sat near them in a few years.

One part of it I think is that instead of folk who want to sing being spread around the stadium they all now sit in the one area, which leaves the rest of the stadium quiet, especially when they sing songs folk dont like or dont know.

Singing songs about Nicky Clark is hardly going to stir anyone up.

Id like it if there was a proper singing section for people that want to bring flags and banner and sing Rangers songs, without all this poofy ultras wannabe shite that goes with the UBs etc.

I cant remember the last time I heard the Sash, Derrys Walls or even Follow Follow being belted out at Ibrox. No one joins in with the daft chants other than the Barcelona one, because most of them are shite.

There will be no buzz back at Ibrox until we have a David Holmes/Souness type moment again and by the looks of it that won't happen anytime soon, the present lot are just kiddin themselves on and after the three seasons in purgatory, boycotting, in fighting has taken its toll. The rest of Scottish football have got what they wished for a weak Rangers and are now reaping what goes around comes around, empty football stadia, empty coffers and empty jerseys ! It'll take a momentous moment by some genius (rich) to put Rangers back to even half of where they were to bring back the atmosphere ! Don't hold yer breath !

You have hit the nail on the head there.

When we get back, it will reawaken the whole game in this backwater.

All three were sung on Saturday along with King Billy on the wall and what felt like a ten minute rendition of Blue sea of Ibrox. Definitely the songs that get most around joining in, and the new 'everywhere we go' chant seems to catch on well at times in the BF.

It's a shame though the other stands don't join in the way they used to. Hopefully once we're back in the top flight that will change.

Sing The Billy Boys and fcuk it !

Bring back the old standing enclosure's, atmosphere was much better. Remember the champions league nights and the teams had to line up facing the enclosures before KO, the Billy boys drowning out the CL tune. Them was the days mate, would give anything for that again.

The match day experience in Scotland is terrible. I've written about that on here before. Anyone that's been to sports abroad will know the difference. Getting a pint and sitting in the sun in a relaxed atmosphere is what it should be all about. I hope the ticket prices don't go up next year because it's simply not worth it.

We need a bit of bottle to bring it back Bro, aye and they should bring the standing enclosures, make a difference to the atmosphere, fans would FILL them with glee, sadly missed daze !

Not a massive fan of the UB but Ibrox would be dead without them. Least they try something.

Problem is where they sit is basically a dead end.

They should be sat in the corner of Copland and Sandy Jardine stand would mean the majority of people near them would join in and would end up going round the stadium
