Real Madrid vs Sporting Gijon

The Hammer 11

Pipita Higuain was superb again last night, he's on fire at the moment and he's playing with such confidence, an absolute bargain at £9 million. De la Red was great again too and Diarra looked like the midfield monster he was at Lyon.

Credit to Van Der Vaart, he grabbed a hat-trick last night and he looks like he has finally settled. Hopefully Sneijder returns to partner him in El Clasico come December.

It's funny how it all pans out. The aforementioned players have all came to the fore and Madrid are playing like a team, a real team. Without Robinho, the place just seems so much happier, with everybody wanting to be there. Selling him and losing out on Ronaldo was probably the best thing that could have happened.

The rumour in Madrid is that the club are preparing a January move for Arda Turan. Instead of a superstar, this is the type of winger i'd like to see. I just hope Calderon doesnt abandon his idiosyncrasies in January by splashing out on some big name. The Perez days are truly dead and Madrid look all the better for it.
