Madrid havent had a striker of Van Nistelrooy's quality since Hugo Sanchez.

Madrid deserved to win that game, Betis' keeper kept them in it.

Im pretty gutted that Marcelo got sent off, i just know this kid will come good.

2-1 to Madrid. Van Nistelrooy scores in injury time.

And that's the final score. Very good game.

Van Nistelrooij (correct spelling ;)) is a lot more than just a striker.

He set up as many goals as he scored last season.

Along with Crespo, the best striker of my era so far.

I can't argue with that.

For me, Thierry Henry pre Barca is still the best striker i've ever seen. He isnt what he was, but the guy was inhumane during the 49.

Thierry's my favourite all round. I remember Arsenal playing at Anfield a few years back, and Henry took Carragher on down the left hand side.

Poked it past him and ran onto it. Christ almighty, time seemed to slow down as Henry just flew past him at Usain Bolt speeds. Never seen anything like it.

For pure finishing though, it's RVN and Crespo all the way.
