Juventus have presented the plans for their new stadium, which should be ready for the 2011-12 season.

The Old Lady are currently sharing the Stadio Olimpico with neighbours Torino, but the small capacity means that many fans can't get tickets to big games.

The Bianconeri presented their application for the new ground last March and the new development will be on the site of the old Stadio Delle Alpi.

The new stadium will have a capacity of 40,200 and will represent an investment of around £90m and will be named after a sponsor.

Behind the stands there will be eight restaurants, 24 bars, 459 Press seats and a ring of green space.

Patron John Elkann gave a speech at the presentation while holding a match ball from 1950.

“This took us ages to find, but it's a ball from 1950 when we won the Scudetto,” he explained.

“It's a symbol of the past of the club and a motivation for the future.

"We will put this ball somewhere in the new ground, but for now we are entrusting it to our captain Alessandro Del Piero.”
