    • The manager has made mistakes with his team selections lately, no point pretending otherwise. But he could have selected whoever and set the team up any formation and they would still have blown it. Sometime, sooner or later. Everyone mustve known deep down it would happen. He got the team into a position where the prize was there for them but then the pressure started to build and they dealt with that pressure the same way they always do. They shat it. Thats down to their character and there is absolutely fuck all any manager alive can do to change a weak willed player into a winner. In every sport thats what sets winners apart and unfortunately we have very few if any.
    • Tav will always be Tav. He’s either an 8/10 or a 4/10.  The issue is that he’s currently the only player in our squad who is capable of rising to the occasion. It’s been years since we had another player who can consistently step up to the mantle and drag us through games. When others have bad games Tav has saved their skin… when Tav has a stinker or find himself on a bad run of form there’s nobody who’s willing or capable of stepping up. We are so one dimensional. In reality it’s fucking nuts that we expect so much from a right back… it’s also quite frankly insane that the club have let it get this far. What other team in the modern game has spent the best part of 8 years building their entire team and style of play around a right back!? We have built a team that allows him to smash personal records… but it’s came at the detriment of the clubs wider success. I say this as a massive fan of his… it’s time to go. We need a massive culture change at the club.
    • OP has a fair point. Rangers minded players are few and far between in the squad. They’re not essential to success, but definitely help in my opinion. I want to see characters in the dressing room. No offence to anyone, but most our current squad come across as boring bastards. They’re dreadful footballers to boot which only compounds matters.
    • Well for our squad, we already know the answer for many.
    • It’s actually quite damning on players who have been here so long that a 20 year old knows more about expectation, responsibility and pressure. Its a privilege to be a professional football first and foremost but to get the chance to play for big clubs is something that not many will get the opportunity to do so and you have to be prepared to take the good and the bad. For me I see fear in these players, it’s why you get the shitey sideways passing because they don’t want to take the chance of upsetting the crowd for a misplaced forward pass.
