Would be great - he has two corporate tickets but I doubt he will be there as he seems to be fading fast - it was his (hastily arranged) prom tonight and he managed 20 minutes! Sad as fuck!

Here we are the day of the match and we all have choices, what time we get up, have breakfast and plan our match day, travel by train or bus stroll to the pub or even watch it at home or at a mates house, young Jak due to the shit hand he has been dealt in life does not even have the most basic of these choices, I only heard this story last week and this young lads bravery in the face of adversity is humbling.

Your a top kid Jak, god bless.

GB and Bluepeter9 have stepped up to the plate ( I would have been surprised if they had not) there are still plenty decent people in this world.

Morning. Jak's had an up and down night but is sitting here atm absolutely determined he's going to Hampden!!!!

His Grandad, uncles and nurse may have other thoughts..... So watch this space and see if our amazing trouper decides to watch the match from our house with goodies and his Grandad and Uncles or if he decides to go to Glasgow...

And as for Last Night's Prom...

Well Jak made it for ten minutes to the ball with his beautiful princess.

I believe the night was a complete success and Jak's Grandad and uncles went back to collect his Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award which was granted to him as he's done all the work apart from final expedition and also the Kerry MacGregor Memorial Trophy for overcoming adversity- I'm one exceptionally proud mummy:) but also a very grateful and proud parent of the wonderful and amazing staff and pupils of West Calder High School for their outstanding effort to make a very special night for my beautiful boy Jak and his princess Hannah.
Hiya everyone Jak here. I would just like to make a massive apology for me only turning up and then having to go again. :( I was gutted and really sad as I never spoke to anyone, but I took really unwell really quickly as I had been lying in bed for 3 days without hardly moving.

Thank you to everyone who organised it and came along, even just knowing it was all happening for me makes me smile

Did Jak make it today?

No. Would appear getting to the prom last night must have taken it's toll on him, and he was too tired to make the journey.

Well believe it or not my boy has just been on his quad bike and Nigel n David's quad bike as his wouldn't start round the field and through the puddles! Unbelievable ! So home for a wee rest before watching the big match on tv

There's a brief video of him on his Q/Bike on the page too. Have to say, I think the 2/3 hour round trip as well as sitting in Hampden for a couple of hours would have been a big ask. Gutted for him that he couldn't make it.

It probably would have been too much! Gutted that the result was shit as well but when you read about the bravery of this young man and that of his family it puts everything into perspective, yes it would have fantastic to have won today but at the end of a day they were only battling for 90 minutes on a pitch, this youngster is battling constantly for his life :(

And as for gb and bp9 - an absolute credit to our support. :21:

We'll come on to me in a minute, but first...

bp9 is the one who deserves the Lion's Share of any credit here. He was the one who highlighted Jak's plight to us back in September...

http://forum.rangersmedia.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=273834

And the one who has kept in touch with Jak's family since then, passed on a few messages, run a few errands. The usual good samaritan stuff. (tu)

But he won't want any credit for that. That's just what anyone would do in his shoes, and there are (happily) hundreds, if not thousands of other people doing the same or similar. So Jak's not going short in that department right now. (tu)

Where bp9 deserves real credit, is for his determination to see this into the future after Jak's gone. Jak has a very clearly-defined vision of what he would want his legacy to be, and it's gonna require quite a lot of specialised work from lots of different people. bp9 has something of value to offer in that department, and he's going to do his bit to make sure they get as much ongoing support as he can give them. (And we all know what bp9 is like when he gives his support  )

Here's an earlier post from Jak's mum on the subject...

...all money raised from this will go into Team Jak account and will be used to put Jak's dreams into reality and help many many more people when we get premises for Star Harmonies and provide counselling for families, musical theatre workshops, therapy through music, a choir for cancer patients and families, a quiet room, a loud room, and jaks much wanted cafe Jak's Den in a footy and fast cars theme for cancer patients to eat in a clean environment with freshly cooked food always.

...and We would be very grateful for all your help to ensure we get our premises for star harmonies and jak's den and ensure we fulfil all of jak's wishes within them as I just know we have enough support out there to make all of his dreams happen.

So that's bp9's challenge. I'm sure he'll be happy to take some praise once he's got some concrete results, but not before. (tu)

As for me - with all my experience of Fund Activity, sitting here with a pile of money and cool stuff, donated by 131 Good Bears for the express purpose of supporting The Rangers Family - I'd expect some amount of shit off the Fund members if I didn't offer their full, immediate and unconditional support the moment I heard about Jak's situation. There is, after all, only One Jak Trueman - everybody knows that. :D

So instead of "well done gb" it should be "quite right gb, but what took you so long?" (tu)

Now, moving on - as far as making a lasting contribution to Jak's Legacy is concerned - well, as you well know, we are a very small fish, in a very big pond, and our cash donations don't carry much weight. So as usual, if we want to punch above our weight, and make a real measurable difference to Jak's Legacy, we'll have to put our thinking caps on.

Luckily we've done a wee bit of thinking already, and we have a couple or three plans in motion. One of them is an absolute belter (if I do say so myself!) and if that comes off, it will make us all very happy. (tu)

One other thing that does spring to mind is that we already have a mechanism in place to potentially support Jak's Den...

I was just about to disband the RM Teddy Bears' Fund (remaining balance £2.74) after we spent all the remaining money on Fernando Ricksen tickets. But maybe all it needs is a rebrand and a new mission statement to attract new investment?

Kinda embarrassed to get 'credit' for the small bits I've done - but love the fact we as a support have reacted positively once we became aware of the issue - and to try to make something positive out of this shit situation it's about a legacy - and GB has some great ideas in support of 'Jaks Den'. It's support for Jak, erskine, and other bears ( and of course the club) that makes us a family!
