Is that recent? When I went in the 70s and 80s it was never known as that, and what's the relevance to Dublin, apart from Greenock

back in the day there was a housing scheme behind that end of the ground where Oirish immigrants settled. It was known locally as "wee Dublin".

Its always been called the 'wee dublin end' and the reason for it was there was a small amount of houses in the industrial estate behind that part of the ground that were filled with Irish inhabitants after the famine.

As for Greenock being filled with 'Oirish'then i can tell you that's a common misconception.

I live in Greenock and i would say its about 50-50% and used to be 60-40% us.

Its just those smelly bastards wear their tops everyday to show what they are.

We also voted NO in the referendum to show our loyalty to the union.
