More direct, more no-nonsense defending, less controlled, more getting in behind the opposition defence, more pressing. Didn’t always keep possession as good as we should and missed some decent chances but that was refreshing to watch.

Cos we wouldn’t let Sutton in Ibrox - yet he’s not on the punditry box so not sure what’s ended up happening. -

Good bit of dig and ‘almost’ bits of play - players not quite sure where to be yet at times but to be expected. Need Hagi off for Sakala for a bit of pace on the break. -
From orange tub to orange club. Interesting though I wonder how he ended up on our radar.

Would rather the next game was a domestic match so we can begin to put the weekend behind us. Europe won’t do that. Don’t know what, if anything, this game will tell us. -
A team losing hunger after 1 trophy is a head scratcher. Confirms that this team needs its core refreshed.
-
What the fuck were they doing? Arfield and Aribo only players with a bit of directness that might have got in behind or played another in behind. The two best players in the team get taken off. What were they watching out there?
-
He’s a pointless presence in this team. I don’t know what position he plays in anymore but what striker has fewer shots on goal than he does. Play breaks down with him now when a couple of years ago literally anything good we did he to go through him.
-
Honestly not sure he should play for us again with comments like that. Get to fuck.
-
According to people at Brighton, he’s a winner.

Would You Prefer To Stand At The Football?

Standing with something to lean on. -
Although we need to kickstart our player trading model and we would get the most money for him I’d be reluctant to sell. When he came back against Ross County he was head and shoulders above the rest .

The fact they are hoping it falls through is telling

Part of the fun of appointing him as soon as possible will be those sewer rats taking 4 months to appoint some diddy from the J league and we’ve wrapped up our man in less than half a week

4LHAD retweeting plenty about Gio.

Most top clubs now monitor replacements and move for them as soon as needed. You barely seen caretakers/ interims at the highest level at all anymore. All very well not rushing into things but these talks with multiple candidates need to move quickly.

Steven Gerrard To Aston Villa - Official

The whole contriving to get him to take over from Klopp has been pathetic tbh. This 2.5 year deal to take him up to the end of Klopps contract is childlike -

Thank god the Russel Martin rumours have been rubbished -

I don’t have the knowledge to name one but I’m sure there are at least a handful of potentials. Gerrard won’t be the peak of managerial candidates. -

The guy on FF who broke news he was coming in 2018 now saying he’s gone and it was done Sunday after WH vs Liverpool. Shite time to leave but we are in a much better position to attract a decent manager than we have been for a decade. Could get a better manager than Gerrard in. He will need to hit the ground running though. -
We were better technically this evening. Let us move the ball around much more quickly. Previous games where it’s getting stuck under our feet and passes going behind players, never going to hurt a team playing like that.
-
Looks fairly handy when he plays but doesn’t get involved in the game enough. Never really links the play often seems isolated. He’s obviously not fancied, will barely see him again probably.
