As far as I'm concerned VB has always done what any Rangers board should have done, but never have, take on the many haters we have in this country, head on. Kudos to VB & it's contributors.

It was David Holmes & to a lesser extent Lawrence Marlborough, that brought Souness & Butcher etc.. to the club, the 'revolution' had already started, so to speak, it was Souness that introduced Murray to Holmes & Co:, this ended up with him buying the club for much cheapness, £6million.

He never did the proper checks, despite what he says, a two minute check tells anyone what they needed to know about Whyte. Murray was an asset stripping shyster and took Rangers to the brink of the abyss, his selling the club to that cunt pushed us over the edge, he is as much to blame (I blame him more) as anyone for what happened.

Oh it did, that's what I'm saying, at one point (June 2006 accounts) it was almost gone, down to £5.9m and it somehow creeped up again, it was all Murray and his asset stripping.

The debt got down to £5.9 million and was almost wiped out (June 2006), we had just signed the deal with JJB & had a decent Champions League run, after that, your guess is as good as mine as to what happened, after PLG, Walter Smith came in, in 2007 & we spent millions, but recouped a fair few too, why that debt went back up again is something for David Murray to answer.

David Murray spent the millions, he was the owner & majority shareholder with around 86% of the shares at that time, he didn't have to put anything by the board, it was all his choice to spend it, he could & should have said no, you don't need hindsight to work out when your outgoings are far, far more than your incomings, it's basic business sense. I blame Murray for what happened, then Whyte, that's the way I see it, it wasn't just the 'Advocaat years' it was 20 years of mismanagement by Murray.

David Holmes for me too, most forward thinking Chairman & CEO we have had, certainly in my lifetime. Without him & of course the money of the Marlboroughs we would never have had Souness & the English players like Butcher & co:

This I'm always astonished at how Murray always seems to escape any sort of blame for what happened.

I did an article for VB many moons ago regarding Murray and his mismanagement of Rangers, financially & his failure to protect the club and it's fans from 'persecution' except where his name was mentioned. I blame him, first and foremost, for what happened, then the shyster that is Whyte, for Murray to claim he did the proper background checks is wrong, a two minute google search told you everything you needed to know about that cunt, but then Murray was always good at the smoke & mirrors routine.
