  1. Ellis was nothing more than a chancer who didnt have the means to take the club forward imo and while im disappointed noone else has stepped up im still fairly happy that the club will remain stable and in safe hands until we can find a serious buyer.
  2. He's been free to sign for a new club since January but no EPL team will touch him which is why its taking so long for him to get a club imo.
  3. Because he's the SPL all-time scorer? means nothing outside of the SPL Speaking from what position? As he's never played outside the SPL, how can anyone actually say he won't do well in another league. Sounds to me like all the Boyd detractors (won't say haters) are suitably miffed because he's stated he wants to leave. I'm shit at maths, but divide his goals by 400k and you won't find a better return anywhere in any league in the world. Just wish folk would realise what Boyd has done for us and if he wants to go, then wish him well. I don't see the same amount of vitriol for Hutton. And please don't tell me he didn't want to go, he went for the money same as Boyd will. Noone did, I only asked the question, Who would want him?, As he has been free to sign for a new club since January, An overweight poacher, who has no pace, cant even run with the ball or beat a man, has a poor 1st touch, isnt very good in the air and doesnt have very good game awareness or hold the ball up very good, Then on top of that only gives 100% when he feels like it or his contract is up for renewal, There is no question he has been decent value for us at 400k but thats all he is for me, an SPL poacher as he is off no use against level opposition like the mhanks or in Europe, So the fact Newcastle dont want him as well as the overall lack of genuine interest is no surprise for me as he wont get to play for another team in Europe that are far superior to nearly all of the other teams in the league and play against the level of defenders that he is up against in the SPL.
  4. Because he's the SPL all-time scorer? Means hee haw outside the SPL as there is nowhere else in Europe he is going to be able to play for a team that is far superior to the rest of the teams in the league and against the level of defenders there is in the SPL.
  5. Who would want an overweight poacher with no pace, who cant beat a man or even run with the ball, has a poor 1st touch and game awareness as well as being pretty poor in the air and holding the ball up, then on top of that only puts in 100% effort when he feels like it or his contract is up. Certainly no EPL side or any side from a decent quality league in Europe imo, Its possible he may get a Championship side taking a punt on him but the lack of serious interest (even as a Bosman) is no surprise for me and i wouldnt be surprised if he and his agent come back to Bain with their tails between their legs trying to get the contract we offered, which hopefully has now been taken off the table and would only be replaced with a new lower basic incentive based contract.
  6. We are a better team unit without him imo and he isnt worth 18k per week to be a squad player as he doesnt contribute in the CL or against the mhanks, plus we also need to start producing better quality youngsters and they need good role models to look up to and learn from, not guys like Boyd who cant even get himself into decent physical condition and only gives 100% when he feels like it or his contract is up for re-negotiation, The lack of interest (even as a bosman) pretty much says it all and the sooner we get him out the door the better for me.
  7. Velicka is almost identical(although he has a better touch) and could easily replace Boyd for me but hopefully Lafferty can step up with Miller and we can play a more open attacking fast moving game with link up from the midfield and everyone chipping in with their fair share of the goals rather than playing with 10 men trying to tee up a poacher which doesnt work very well in the bigger games anyway imo, then we can have a settled side and system for all games as well.
  8. No great loss imo as he was only a squad player at best for me and we are a better all round team and unit without him, He wasnt worth the 18k we offered him and im glad he hasnt accepted it tbh as he was also a bad influence on our youngsters as well for me with his professionalism, Its just a shame we couldnt get him out the door for the 3.8 mil Brum were offering in January 09. He knew exactly what he was doing imo as he has just ran down his contract to get us much money as he could for himself without any thought for the club as he was trying to make out. Will be back with a provincial SPL club in a few years once his contract runs out imo as he doesnt have what it takes to make it in the EPL or Championship for me.
  9. Seems to me its all about the money for him as it is with 99% of players nowadays and im not too fussed if he stays or not tbh as he is a very average player imo and one who wouldnt be missed much, if at all, Im far more worried about losing our quality players like Bougherra,Davis,Miller, etc.
  10. I very much doubt you will be saying that once you actually see him play and it would be interesting to hear your views on him once you have, assuming he gets much gametime, which i doubt he will tbh as i think McLeish will just use him like he is doing with Phillips because for me he isnt capable of starting many games at all in the EPL due to the fact he is not a team player, has no pace, his fitness and athleticism is a really poor as is his touch, game awareness and hold up play, plus he cant run with the ball or beat a man and isnt that good in the air either.
  11. We are a far better team without Boyd for me and i dont think he will be much of a loss at all tbh, as has been shown, we average more goals without him and win more games also,(especially against top 6) He would be ok to keep for the squad on 8-10 k per week with incentive bonuses for him to improve, mostly his fitness and athleticism, (which is shocking for a so called professional footballer imo) but he obviously is money motivated and is looking to get as much as he can elsewhere, which, for me will be Brum as they have been the only club who have shown any interest so far in the 3 transfer windows, which pretty much says it all about his abilities for me. It does amaze me how McLeish thinks he can be off value to him though as Boyd has absolutely no chance of cutting it in the EPL for me as he is too slow, unfit and doesnt have the technique or game awareness to be effective at that level imo.
  12. Feck me, what game were you watching, Fair enough if you werent at the game as i dont think you see half of it on the TV but Boyd was absolutely diabolical and its no surprise as soon as we got him off we created 3 times more chances from open play with him on and scored within 3 minutes from Novo's pace and movement,(instead of Boyds statue routine because he is so unfit), Miller didnt have his best game but still done 10x more for the team than Boyd with his pace, movement, work rate and game awareness.
  13. He's equal with Boyd with both their penalties/freekicks taken out I think. Dont forget Miller has won around 8 penalties himself as well.
  14. Its laughable that Boyd got a POTY nomination before Miller imo as Kenny has been one of our best players along with Weir and Davis and our best forward by a distance, excellent goal return, (and some crucial ones as well in big games) plus he has also won around 8 penalties along with everything else he gives the team with his workrate, movement and game awareness.
