Shankland lost whatever pace he had, he’s a proper poacher but we should have grabbed him a year or so ago, not worth it, we never should have let Colak go while retaining so much that needed to be let go! We have three things worth celebrating; a decent manager, an incredible keeper, and some young blood full of promise.

You try not to listen then somehow you get the nod that St Johnstone were ahead... so you try to not get your hopes up... and then even if they drop points you have that feeling that we will huff and puff against St Mirren and fail to capitalise. and then somebody scores.

I'm half way between this bleak but realistic approach and some silly optimistic fantasy that within each of these players there is some professional hunger and passion to do something remarkable and memorable so their careers add up to more than just struggling along from one unconvincing performance to the next.
