  1. Fuck them, This for a club that refuses to call us by our name and have taken petty swipes whenever they could to pander to their manky fanbase. Again fuck them.
  2. It's astonishing that they haven't actually put the date of the friendly on that picture or in the further detail.
  3. Their defences aren't water tight, that's why their keepers have higher save percentages, if they are having 10 shots against and the keeper saves 7 out of 10 and 3 go in, he has a 70% save percentage its nonsense. xG against id agree is a better metric but again I'm not convinced with the majority of models. Fwiw I do agree that both McLaughlin and McGregor could do better but save % isn't the great big stick to beat keepers with that everyone thinks it is.
  4. Save % is a farce of a metric, look at the chances our defence give up game after game, free headers from 6 yards, or one on ones, in this world of data and statistics you should never take metrics in isolation. Edit: not directed at you mate just in general its such a lazy position that a lot of fans are taking to justify berating more of our players.
  5. If thats what you think the main aim of boxes are then theres no point in continuing the conversation.
  6. You do realise its kids at a playpark that should be working on their control and not adult professionals? You will hate Beales training then because its all based around direct play, which is basically allowing the players to express themselves however they want, with the main safety net of it being a safe environment to try things.
  7. Aye hes got another wee one now plus he's uncle to my two girls.
  8. I know him personally, he's doing well, father of 3 bluenoses, my niece and 2 nephews haha
  9. When you look back at things like Roy Makaay telling Kent to keep it simple and tricks are for the circus in training, the safest environment for players to express themselves then I think its safe to assume that the training was boring. Beale is completely different in that he believes in direct play in training, competition and just a much more fun environment, its no wonder the players seem to be buzzing a lot more about it now.
  10. It's likely the op would've kept him out for quite some time after, therefore putting him on the injury table as well, doesn't seem like a good idea when we are already down to the bear bones. MB seems happy enough to manage it and keep GK as an option. Either that or he wants a move and knows he wont get it if he is out injured.
  11. I'm more worried about St Mirren at the weekend than I am about Hearts tonight. We should really be taking care of this game the same way we did with Aberdeen.
  12. I remember one against Hibs I think, someone lost the ball and the shot came from about 25 yards and went straight in, almost in the middle of the goal. Foderingham was and is bang average, like McLaughlin, a keeper who can do a job for 90% of the game, but when called upon the remaining 10% can't be trusted.
  13. Gio has failed us massively the last 2 games, In no universe should we be beaten before half time against either of these sides. His post match comments about not being able to compete without spending hundreds of millions are an absolute disgrace. We have literally just knocked out the second best team in Holland by winning away from home, yet we are supposed to believe we can't lay a glove on Ajax, pathetic. Zonal marking is one of his many faults and the inability to change it given we concede at least 1 free header from a set piece every single game this season is borderline unforgivable. The players have also let him down massively these last two games, if they are ignoring instructions then the game is up, it means he's lost the dressing room and the players don't believe in what he is trying to do. I can just about accept losing against these two sides away from home but the manner in which it has happened is nothing short of disgraceful and if something doesn't change by Saturday then he has to go. I'm really hoping it's just a blip and we will kick on but that's probably just pure optimism rather than anything else at this stage. 8 goals conceded in 2 games and every single one of them was preventable, just leaves you destroyed.
  14. I can only imagine what it will be like on here as we get our squad down to 25 players and only replace anyone we sell after that. Site might need new servers.
  15. You might be right on both but it's far too early to say one way or the other. The January window is what you make of it, identify where you are struggling with a much larger sample size than 5 games, then try and line up your targets early on in the window. This January will be unique I think as players will be coming off the back of good World Cups so i imagine there will actually be a bit more business done this January than usual.
  16. Which signings aren't up to it?, because as far as i see it we are only 5 games into the season, would be a bit foolish to write some off, no? As I said before come January we will reassess and im sure make a move or two if needed.
  17. We have dominated every single game we have played domestically this season, so i don't see your point. This is not Fifa or Football Manager, its the real world and signing more than 6/7 players in a single window is not a good long term strategy for any club. Especially one with a squad as bloated as ours. We have been running at loss for years now, forgive me for not jumping down the boards throat the first time we actually make a bit of money and don't just spend it all.
  18. People are absolutely mental, you would think we played in La Liga or the EPL, our squad is more than enough to dominate domestically. It might be frustrating to not bring anyone else in right now, but we have to be realistic 1 or 2 players at the budget range we look at won't guarantee progression from our UCL group. We also shouldn't need them to beat the absolute dross in our league. We go with our more than adequate squad and then see what we can do in January.
  19. Having watched Napoli, of course they have undoubted quality throughout the side, however we will more than have a chance against them. Liverpool should romp the group, leaving us, Napoli and Ajax to fight it out. Can't wait for these games, just brilliant to be back at the top table again after so many years.
  20. He's looking every bit the Croatian internationalist and if he keeps this form up there's every chance our striker could be at the world cup for his country this winter. Been a long time since we've had anyone close to this clinical in front of goal, it's actually unexpected when he misses a chance. Long may it continue.
  21. They didn't bud, City started and finished with Leipzig, Liverpool with AC Milan. I noticed it at the time because it threw me as it had always been whoever you played first you played 5th but for some reason they changed it.
  22. I'd say this isn't true unless Uefa have changed the fixtures format again. Last season we were Lyon, Sparta, Brondby, Brondby, Sparta, Lyon. Which was a change from the usual ABCCAB format to ABCCBA. Meaning Napoli would be MD 5 and Ajax MD6 if this was the fixtures.
  23. The reaction to a draw sandwiched in between two massive European ties is completely OTT. The last couple of years the level of fever pitch is mental, you would think that Rangers teams of the past have never dropped a single point the way folk go on, its a joke.
  24. Ah the good old reliable BBC. They made 3 changes to their team and one of the changes they made Sykes had to come on, they did take players off but it was after they were 3 down so they weren't rested.
  25. They are currently 2 down against Mechelen away from home, A very average side who we must simply go right after. Will be a joke to get put out off this team.
