  1. The bigger question is, who's spin is McGlaughlin peddling?? I doubt this is from Walter himself, so who benefits from this kind of rumour?
  2. I wouldn't say D is ripping him apart, I would say they are at opposing ends of a debate but there's no win or lose, just different views on what's happening. As for Gow being a 'handwringing fuck', this is a ridiculous thing to say about a fellow Rangers fan, just because his beliefs are different to yours makes him no more or less of a Rangers supporter than you are.
  3. I've heard that the story focus' on the roof, which I do know is always being repaired as a firm I worked for previously did most of them. However, there was no structural defect serious enough that stopped me ever walking on it to assess maintenance requirements.
  4. So, the latest rumour sweeping TGFITW is that we have either not been issued our safety certificate (Guys @STV have already told them that it was issued in the last few weeks) This abounded by the fact we haven't has a home friendly game. Now the latest iteration is that the certificate was issued but is under review, subject to 'new' information issued to GCC (presumably by TGFITW) Also, we have suspended the sale of season tickets because of the issue/non-issue if the safety certificate .. we will be cancelling the Newcastle game.
  5. Greenock businessmen Sandy and James Easdale are aiming to increase their shareholding in Rangers and hope to earn a place on the board as a result. The brothers, who run McGill's Bus company, are in line to buy the former Rangers chief executive Charles Green's shares , giving them about 14% at Ibrox. "When you spend that amount of money on any business you wouldn't go without a voice," said James Easdale, 42. "A presence on the board is something we would be seeking in the mid-term." The pair, who are lifelong Rangers fans, were approached by Green towards the end of last year about investing. They did so and acquired about 6% of the shares. Now, with Green ousted and with the Yorkshireman announcing on his departure that he would be selling to the Easdale family, the brothers are looking to further extend their shareholding. "We took a decision to invest in the club," said Sandy Easdale, 44. "It is very hard to comment but we are serious about taking it forward. "We have a delicate deal that when shares are available, we will purchase them. "Other shares are an option to us and that is growing stronger. "Every day we have some more negotiations with other parties. The Easdales' business interests extend into taxis, property and manufacturing, as well as McGill's, which has grown to become Scotland's largest independent operator. They say they are keen to see a "togetherness" at Ibrox to end the turmoil that has afflicted the club over the last 18 months. However, they describe acquiring complete control of the club as "a far distant place". "Somebody needs complete control at Ibrox," said Sandy Easdale. "I don't know if that is where we want to be. We are quite willing to share Ibrox with people who want to do the job, do it properly and support Rangers as a club. "[The turmoil] is very concerning for any Rangers fan. "If we get enough support from the fans and other shareholders, together we could maybe turn it round. "There are many at Ibrox who are sensible and know the way forward but they are struggling to get there because of different factions in the boardroom or outside the boardroom working against them. "We need a togetherness and Rangers can move on. "They have a togetherness with Ally McCoist, a great Rangers icon who has held it together under extreme circumstances, and Ally well deserves a chance to move Rangers on. "And people like Walter Smith, what can you say? The man is a gentleman." His younger brother added: "We would hope to bring some sort of stability. "If we can get some other shareholders on board hopefully we can bring Rangers back to where they should be, in a better position financially and playing at a level of football that everyone who supports them would like them to be." Sandy Easdale also spoke of the situation affecting Rangers chairman Malcolm Murray, who has been asked to stand down by the board. "Personally, I have nothing against him, I don't know him that well, but if you are asked to leave twice there must be something amiss," he said. And asked about fans' concerns about his conviction for VAT fraud, he replied: "It was 1996, about 17 years ago. We have built up a reasonable-sized business in that time, we employ up to 1,000 people. "To cast up 17 years ago seems silly when everybody else has moved on. Let's look at what is happening now." http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/22465783
  6. It's easy to criticise and easy to cast aspertions without any foundation. Seems like more of Phil3names rumours being taken as gospel, just as his previous numerous predicitons of our demise didn't happen either.
  7. I've read many of Chris' articles along with others and I take them at value, taking on board the points I think make sense and rejecting those that don't. I think the TRS is a superb website, along with CRO and those fans who write their own blogs but you have to remember they are just that ... blogs (no offence meant by this but it's true). I do agree with their stance that you cannot reveal a "source", especially if you want that source to provide you with further stories. A blogger doesn't have to suffer the same level of veractity when it comes tho their story that the press do, if the press print something wrong that defames a person there is all sorts of legal issues that they face where that is unlikely to happen when writing a blog, although it can still happen. Many times, these very same guys have defended the club against it's detractors in a way that the club itself is unabel to do, these guys are happy to go up against those, from other bloggers or proper journo's, who would publish stories that contain half-truths, blatant lies or just articles written from a particular point of view.
  8. SPLITTER !!! Peoples Front of Judea ... or nothing !
  9. Fleck is best played behind the front 2 IMO. I have seen him playing a few times now for the U19's & his strength is definately getting the ball and running at people, he has pace, power & a skill not often seen in a player who is only 17 (i believe). Remember this guy plays in the u19's & is a regular in the reserves and HE IS ONLY 17. His coaches moved him up a class because there is no-one in his age group to challenge him now. He is still not the finished article but i believe he will play a small role in the season's campaign with a view to bringing him through for 2009/2010 season when he will still only be 19.
  10. Boyd was the highest goalscorer at the club yet how many games did he actually start ?? His goals won us 2 trophies & i thought his recent performances showed far more of a work ethic than in the past. Teams plough ££££'s into thier youth set up to find strikers with a talent such as his & who loves the club to-boot. Boyd has to stay & he has to play.
  11. Personally i support Walters choices, no matter what. Yes, i may question some of those but ultimataly i choose to back my managers choices. I DO question anyone who would choose to boo a player pulling on the blue of Rangers .... as a supporter you are supposed to support .... not criticise, that isn't support & you should have a good look at yourself.
  12. twenty minutes gone, chances for them none for us. Plenty of banter between the fans though.
  13. i'm at the game just now (on the mobile ) not many of them but two full sections of bears. C'mon the bears.
  14. Thought the ref had a good game ...ok he kept Naylor on the park when he should been 2nd yellow'd & off but he also didn't show Thomson his 2nd yellow when he should've . There are always decisions which will be highlighted by both sides after a match but overall, i thought he had a good game.
  15. He stuck his leg ot to catch Samaras, it was a dive for me, if he hadn't touch Samaras then he wouldn't have went down. Still, he was outstanding today, should've got MOTM too but have my doubts about him beings fit for Thursday.
