  1. Couldn't care less whether they sell him, TBH he wasn't a bad player at Hibs but at Celtic he's been very poor. Very limited creativity and his only qualities are tackling and workrate. IMO Barry Robson was Celtic's best central midfielder, Scott Brown isn't any better in CM than Lee McCulloch.
  2. Just an interesting tactical question, ahead of another important league encounter this Saturday. With no Novo, Miller, Boyd, Naismith and possibly Lafferty for the game, if we do manage to with a unfamiliar striking pair which could consist of Lee McCulloch and John Fleck then I ask what should we do if we go 1-0 up? I know Walter Smith has come under a lot of criticism in the past for his negative approach but I would argue that the strongest area of our team is the defence and even though it wouldn't be pretty I think bearing in mind our striking options and our team on Sunday, should we take the lead, Walter should switch to 4-5-1 and try and protect what we've got. I know a lot of fans will hate the idea of defending at home to Hearts but personally all I'm interested in this Saturday is the three points and if we have to go 4-5-1 to do that, then I'm all for it.
  3. If Boyd leaves we'll move on and make the best out of the situation as we can! No player is bigger than the club but remember Boyd turned down the chance to leave Rangers last year! I don't see why people think it's an inevitable that he will leave this year. Personally I think he'll stay at Rangers until at least the summer and then if he does depart it will be on the back of a 2nd consecutive SPL title
  4. I agree, personally I wouldn't sell him for anything less than £2.5 million. Plus why should we be so quick to get rid of Mendes? True he's damn inconsistent but definetly one of the most creative players in the squad and if we lose Steven Davis to injury then what sort of central midfield partnership will we have to endure without Mendes? Also any money we do raise through the sale as some posters have widely observed would go simply to the bank and would not go towards Kris Boyd or Danny Wilson's contract, personally if we are to lose Danny Wilson, Nacho Novo, Beasley and Kris Boyd at the end of the season, then I'd definetly like to see Mendes stay! IMO he's also a potentially good new captain once Davie Weir finally hangs up his boots.
  5. You have kids??!??!?!?!?! You know how to breathe??!??!?!?!?! just a pity you dont know how to get your hole ya wanker....lol Wow. Great comeback Wow. Great comeback

  7. We've not lost at Parkhead in our last three games there now, Long may that continue!!
  8. McGregor 8- A fantastic save to give us a point at the end and dealt with everything else ok bar that disallowed goal. Broadfoot 4- Looked dodgy the whole game, McGeady constantly tormented him, on the plus side he won quite a lot of important headers for us. Weir 6- Fairly solid as usual but at times struggled with Samaras and Fortune, still one of our better performers. Wilson 6- Same as Weir, he was ok but at times struggled with Samaras, especially at the point where the forward went past him and it could have led to a goal. Papac 7- One of our best performers, he was solid throughout and when he did make a mistake he recovered quickly. Novo 5- Didn't have any impact and subbed early on. Davis 6- Very poor first half but was a bit better in the second. McCulloch 6- Great header for the goal and battled throughout, sprayed the ball around the pitch a few times quite nicely as well. Whittaker 5- Contributed very little going forward and was little more than a passenger. Lafferty 3- Absolutely nothing from him, could have been red carded and left us with a bigger job to do as well. Boyd 4- Very little from the frontman but in his defence there was little service Subs: Edu 5- Poor pass almost cost us a goal but apart from that he did ok, nothing spectacular. Still recovering from injury.
  9. Absolutely agree Was it Whittaker or Broadfoot who conceded the penalty when McGeady did them in last year's CIS Cup final? Was it an error by Whittaker or Broadfoot to allow Scott McDonald to score against us at Ibrox at the end of 2008? Whittaker has a far better track record in Old Firm games.
  10. Absolutely agree , The sooner we have all three of them back then we'll be dominating games again.
  11. I've been very impressed by Kirk Broadfoot in the last few weeks since he's returned to the team and to be honest it was about time as Whittaker really needed to be dropped, his good form at the end of last season had evaportated. However why did Walter start Broadfoot today? In all the Old Firm games that we've played Celtic, Broadfoot has been appalling and is constantly done by McGeady, I'm not going to pretend that Whittaker is a fantastic fullback but he'd have coped far better with McGeady's pace today than Broadfoot would have. If we're being honest and not looking through our Rangers spectacles then Broadfoot was beaten time and time again by McGeady today, he very rarely got the tackle in and was constantly beaten. I'm a big fan of Walter but he erred by starting Broadfoot over Whittaker at RB and he should know by now that Broadfoot cannot handle McGeady, it happens every single Old Firm game.
  12. :mcgregor: :broadfoot: :weir: :wilson: :ssmith: :whittaker: :mcculloch: :davis: :novo: :boyd: :lafferty: Not a very strong lineup and I'm slightly worried about Sunday because of it, the defence in paticular looks suspect with no Papac or Bougherra and If McGeady's on form he could tear anyone of Broadfoot, Whittaker or Stevie Smith apart. A lot will depend on how Boyd plays up front and whether his strike partner -be it Lafferty, Fleck, Naimsith, Novo whoever- replaces Kenny Miller satisfactorily.
  13. A very inconsistent footballer, He scores fantastic goals but in my opinion is poor defensively and very liable to be beaten in a one on one situation. I would start him on the wing for Sunday's game but only because of a lack of other options. He's a squad player at best and I personally don't think either him or Broadfoot are good although Broadfoot hs impressed recently.

  15. True but to be fair he's been alright in Pre-Season and he scored a cracker today. As for Mendes, Walter Smith said he would be fit for Sunday's match against Hearts.
