  1. 666 has not been my favourite person for the last 6 months but the idea that Scott Brown could be a replacement for him is laughable. The captain has talent, experience and a football brain that exceeds anything that Brown will offer. We would lose out considerably if that were ever to be the swap.
  2. or of course perhaps it means that we will have to endure mediocrity for much longer than we deserve I couldn't care whether they were 21 or 41 just so long as we get more quality, effort, intelligence and knowledge than the current lot have displayed
  3. Never mind next season, it was already the case last season. I remember at least two games after Walter took over where I was literally falling asleep at Ibrox. I cannot remember that ever being the case. There needs to be a serious readjustment to how we play and a serious investment in that squad. With what we have there is no prospect of quality in our play. I have never been a fan of all that matters is 'the three points', or all that matters is 'he scores'. I want my Rangers teams to be teams that are exciting to watch, who have a clear style of play, who have players that you feel really can do things others cannot. Winning is not enough, we have to win with style.
  4. Just heard on GMTV a wee interview about a programme coming up where a female economist tried to persuade English premiership players to donate a day's wages to a hardship fund for nurses. The gist of the story was that over half of the players wouldn't participate. However, towards the end of the interview she did say that both Rangers and |Celtic volunteered to donate even though they were not asked. She said that the captains of both teams phoned up and got in touch with her volunteering their participation. Good on them
  5. Reading a thread elsewhere about Rodriguez and how he has been really significant in getting Marseille into the group stages of the CL next year. What is it about all these other diddy leagues in Europe - why can't they develop players or managers of quality who are able to come here to Scotland and adapt to our superior league. Do they all underestimate the superior skill and sophisticated tactics of our teams, do they all fall short of the incredible fitness levels of our players, do they fail to appreciate the importance of our 'off field culture'. It baffles me, after all so many of our players are desired so keenly throughout Europe Why are these other countrries so far behind our revolutionary successfull style of football Why are they so insular that they can't modify their style to suit us. It baffles me.
  6. but he is scoring goals, SURELY that is all that matters
  7. Darrell King does indeed have a more objective look at Rangers however, he in common with most journalists with a leaning to Rangers as opposed to Celtic does take a more neutral approach in discussions. He is not frightened to kick it ion to Rangers on issues that a lot of fans feel need kicked in, but he is also not frightened to give them praise. He takes a fairly journalistic middle of the road approach with them in order to keep his paymasters happy. Iain King on the other hand has little integrity and is one of the preferred mouthpieces of the kiss and tell captain.
  8. His intelligence level ? His Standard Grade English mark ? The number of media guys he phoned before getting back to his house from Murray park ?
  9. He obviously diden't enjoy his first attempt at being a manager earlier this year.
  10. 666 should never have been made captain by WS I had no objection to him being made captain by Dick Advocaat. I had no objection to him being made captain again by McLeish or indeed by PLG, he deserved the opportunity However when it became clear what he was up to, and then his disgrasceful behaviour at New Year he should never have been allowed to wear thye arm band again. He has failed in his duities on and off the field this time around and a new captain is essential for the future.
  11. Bar 72 seats near Broomloan end. Mo0ved from Govan Front, like facilities but not as atmospheric.
  12. on my backside, means I can see the game.
  13. I actually welcome this and believe that this is good for Rangers and we should support it. They did not need to extend their own rules tomcover a wider range of offences, but they did, and the Ibrox disaster one is exactly right. I think they have accepted that Rangers fans have taken a beating unfairly over the whole thing ansd they have stood up here and said to other clubs that they are not squeeky clean. If Rangers fans want they can make this work to their advantage. We have dealt with the sectarian stuff pretty much and I honestly feel that other clubs have more to fear in this than us. We have accepted our problem, have started to deal with it, and have started to adjust to a new world of supporting the team without the need to demean others. Some of the 'whiter than white ' clubs may now just find themselves with a problem.
  14. Most clubs arte not in the MUST WIN THE LEAGUE NEXT YEAR category, so most cvlubs are irrelevant when compared to us
