How do you know none of the posters go to church or not?. I go to Christ Church Anfield. Relatives of mine have attended this church before it was moved and rebuilt, for over 100 years. The numbers of Lodge members fluctuates, depending what is going on, for example in Northern Ireland. The Lodges are still in a healthy position, considering the population is becoming more insular. Home entertainment means we dont socialise anywhere as much as we once did. Picture houses, ice rinks, dog tracks, dance halls, alehouses, speedway tacks, theatres, for example, all disappearing. People afraid to say hello to strangers in the street, in case they are thought of as weird. The Lodges are still strong though. The one I go to is very strong. A lot of members, from teens to 60's. Its a great social life. Its just the way we are. All for one, and all that. When I was at school, over 100 kids played footy every day on the field around the corner. I lived on that field as a kid. Now its empty. Just dogs crapping all over it. There have been Lodges here in this city, for nearly 200 years. It is taking one hell of a long time to die.
