  1. The whole subject of this is a joke.

I have had a number of discussions with the club about this subject and have received a pass for a number of years.

Every year around this time they send a new one out, however the last 2 seasons (not including the covid one prior) the pass hasn't arrived so I emailed them.

Each time they have apologised for the delay, said there is a backlog and that if it is not issued in time, to use my old pass....no issue.

This year, I done the same, to be told that I would need to apply again and then be put on a waiting list like the poster above.

If that's the process then fine, I get that, but at what point was anyone going to tell me I had to apply again? It not looks likely that I wont be able to attend the matches until the issue is resolved, either that or gamble on a space at the surrounding business car parks, which is a lottery and if none are available, will have to go home.

Don’t know anything about the player or the managers plans for him… quick panic 😱

You can learn a lot about a player and summaise the managers intentions for them with a little bit of research mate....

Or failing that, you can put your opinion and other people can comment on it, like its a football forum! That might just me that does that though?

Well a left back who had barelt kicked a first team ball did alright for us at centre half only 2 seasons ago

In that case, we should start planning on how to spend the $20m now, since a left back who hard barely kicked a first team ball until he played at centre half sold for that...

No matter what might have happened before, as I said, the guy has played a handful of games at CB and I wouldnt be relying on him to be 2nd or 3rd choice.

Heard a rumour this evening that he's suffered a serious injury and just wondering if anyone has any information to clarify one way or another.

I haven't seen any full training videos yet but in the shorter videos that have been posted I haven't noticed him at all. Maybe just coincidence.

The thought of having only Souttar and Davies currently available with qualifiers on the horizon is a worry.

Even if he is injured, by mentioning Souttar and Davies I am assuming you are counting him as potentially playing CB...

He played once as a CB last season, twice as a CB the season before, prior to that at youth level he played there 7 times in 3 seasons.

I really hope we arent relying on someone who has played there 10 times at the age of 23/24 to be our 3rd of even 4th choice CB!

You didn't ask me but 30k is massive wages for me. I'd see our top striker on that and pretty much noone else.

    See I agree!

I think that £30k should be our top end, maybe 1-2 only slightly more £35k for the likes of our best 1-2.

Reports said he wanted to break our wage structure, fan media also said despite being a free transfer he will be a significant financial outlay.

If you say why believe it, then I will say you can’t just pick and choose what you want to believe. Reports are the only reason we know about any transfer, including this one, the same ones are saying he’s going to be a top earner.

He was on £40k a week at Palace, but I was asking you what is massive?

Of the figures above, what would be too much do you think?

Mccrorie had me full of hope after Tim game but was VERY underwhelming in the next two , almost like a rabbit in headlights at times.

This has got to be one of the worst takes/opinions I have seen on here in a long, long time!

He conceded 1 goal in the 5 games he started after the split...the goal was scored by Hibs from a corner, after a very good save by him, but I dont think theres any blame on him for that goal. On top of that he made a number of very good saves and was decent with the ball at his feet.

How you have watched those games and felt he was like "a rabbit in headlights" is beyond me.

I'm not sure there will ever be a day when Rangers and paying a player that level of money.

We shouldn't ever be to be honest, well over and above our limits.

In this example, there is absolutely no way Reiss Nelson should be signed and be one of our top earners. Played around 100 career games at 23, was bang average on both of his loan spells and looks like he's going to be signed by a lower prem team to fill out their squad, the exact sort of market we need to avoid.

  9. Gunn was touted as potentially being a Man City number one and had a very good season in the Championship with Norwich, before they sold him for a lot of money.

Hasn't been able to establish himself at any club he's been at since and if he has been axed/dropped at Norwich then it would make me doubt his ability to come here and be our number 1!

Not convinced by this and thought we might be looking further afield than a 27yr old who has only played more than 15games in a single season once!

  10. Got a lot of time for McCann but this is way, way wide of the mark!

The Hearts fans gave him abuse all game, he scores, celebrates as normal but gives them a little bit back and hes an idiot?

    Total over-reaction from McCann.

  11. I don't think this is too bad to be honest!

There could easily still be 1-2 in before the deadline but I also remember him saying that it needs to be 1st team players, no loans etc. plus we have players coming back, a few more finding some form.

Would obviously rather we got people in the door now, but they need to be the right people, not stupid loads, short term shite, signings to actually build our squad.

  12. If anyone at Rangers has half a brain we would have been looking at and shortlisting GKs for a couple of seasons now.

McGregor and McLaughlin's age, combined with McRorie's lack of experience, must surely put it at a priority position for us. Unfortunately, the exact same could be said about 3-4 positions on the pitch!

I don't care what anyone says, when McGregor came on as a late sub against Hearts, that was meant to be his farewell then at some point there's been a u-turn either by the player or the club but I can only think that him coming back was a stop gap until the next window/season until we improved other areas, but we cant get away with it this summer!

    Totally disagree.

    Based on what?

You only need to look at our record in the biggest games, games that for the most part Gerrard doesnt select Katic.

I struggle to think of any games where has been very good defensively, but that doesnt mean he had a bad game, so I cant really argue that at the moment, but cant seriously think that Katic is as good on the ball as Goldson and Helander?

    He’s absolutely fine as a 3rd choice.

Remember Balogun only has 6 (or 18 months if we extend his deal) left on his term, Goldsons got 18. Keep Katic and get him learning, we’ve got a ready made replacement who’s already shown he can do it in Europe etc.

The boys only recently 24 FFS, he’s so young for a CB and already got almost 150 odd top flight games in him despite an ACL injury

I mean, you have said that he has shown he can do it in Europe yet when it comes to the games that matter, Gerrard doesnt play him.

He played 2 games in the Europa League proper last season, the 1-1 draw against Young Boys where he was poor and then the home game against Braga where again he was poor, so much so that he got dropped for the away game and Edmundson thrown in ahead of him.

He also only play 90odd "top flight games" which at 24 isnt great in my opinion and even if Balgoun does leave in the summer, we would look to bring someone else in ahead of him for me.

Sorry, but I don't agree with that view.  The other 3 are hardly streets ahead of Katic.

Katic is getting better week by week on here!

He is nowhere Goldson and Helander either defensively or with the ball. I think Balgoun is just as good a defender as the other 2 but not quite as good with the ball and even then he is still better than Katic.

He is a very physical defender but is very raw at the same time. As I said earlier, if something had to happen to any of the other 3, we would need to bring someone else in as Katic isnt at the level of those 3.

He get's caught flat footed and turned far too easily as well.

These thing's can be worked on tbf, but we don't have the luxury of giving players time at our club, we need ready made.

He does have some good attributes like his aerial ability and he's definitely fearless, but he's got a long way to go before he's a 1st choice CB for us, imo.

That sums up my opinion of him quite well to be honest, although I also think he lacks quite a lot with the ball, compared to the other CBs we have!

Some think he's bad, some think he's good. But thankfully only Gerrard's opinion matters.

    I think he's good btw.

Nae shit sherlock...shut the forum down boys and girls because thankfully only Gerrard's opinion matters, no point giving an opinion...

I’ll get hammered for this no doubt but don’t really care because I think he’s class but I think POTENTIALLY Katic is our best centre back.

I love the big man but is nowhere near our best CB, potentially or otherwise!

He often gets caught out positionally and for someone so good in the air attacking set pieces, seems to get caught under the ball a lot in open play, its something thats always concerned me about him.

He is still 24 and has a lot of time to improve but if we lose Balgoun, Helander or god forbid Goldson, we would really need to look at bringing someone in to replace them.
