Our best midfield this season has been Jack, Kamara and Davis with Arfield in front, if we sign another attacking minded midfielder why would that mean Arfield is dropped back? Unless we change formation its a straight swap for me, Murphy for Kent (if he doesnt come back) but theres no chance I would drop Arfield back into that midfield 3.

I don't necessarily think that a 25+ goals striker is what we desperately need...celtic have won a treble treble without one...but what we do need is a team that doesn't rely on Morelos as the sole point of attack/goals and the team has shown recently that they can do well without him, but if he is sold there's no doubt we will need to replace him. I don't think the previous signings have helped build confidence that we can find a new striker...Waghorn and Dodoo have never scored that many goals at a club, Garner was never suited to play in a Warburton team, Herrera was a disaster from the outset, Cummings has never scored that many goals either and guys like Miller and that are also similar, but we did find Morelos... As for Defoe, barring an injury, there is nothing to suggest that he is close to retiring and certainly not next season!

I don’t know who should replace him. We have defoe for another year, but i would suggest that if he is sold he is one of the 2-3-4 quality players we need in.

I done a post a few weeks ago as I had spent a bit of time looking at the past few seasons, in particular the summer windows, and what players were being released/out of contract. We have spent around £10-12m the past 2 seasons and although we don’t need as many new players in, I would expect us to spend the same again, without any player sales. We are obviously getting the free transfers in early, as confirmed by Mark Allen, and will probably end up with 1-2 loan players so although £10m might get you 4 players at £2.5m each, I think we need to move Morelos on and then use that money to get 3-4 players at say £4-5m each! If we get a decent fee for Morelos (£10-15m) then we should be using that!!

I hope we sell him as we need the money to fund additional players but even if I wanted him to stay, his time in Scotland is up! Three times today he was involved in nothing challenges, one with their GK, and another two with their defenders and before the replay is even shown the pundits are suggesting Morelos has lead with arm, got involved etc... I understand that them saying that can be taken with a pinch of salt, but if its said often enough it will be common thought between opposition players, refs, linesmen etc. I havent loved a player as much him for a long time and will be sad to see him go, but thanks for the goals Alfredo and I hope he goes on to score loads!

He used to sit in SJ1 im sure and still has mates that sit there as you always see them waving at him!

I don’t agree mate, there are at least another 5-6 examples throughout the Hearts game showing him (Katic) making clearances in that exact same area. The only difference being when Hearts brought McLean on was that there are 2 strikers in the box to mark rather than one. We still defended well when they had both strikers in the box and based on our positioning in those examples, Katic should be at the back post, McLean heads the ball in the middle of the goal/penalty spot. It might be harsh on Katic, but I wouldn’t be expecting my LB to head the ball clear in that position.

You can see hes been told to mark Ajer at set pieces etc. the second clip is the Ajer-McGregor incident and Katic is next to Ajer. Then there is the clip where they hit the bar, he is a mile out of position, possibly been told to man mark Ajer, so you can forgive that but the next clip is a corner when they hit the bar and he is bullied by Ajer. 46secs in and he is next to Eduard(?) and just lets him go, should have been a goal but poor header/good save. 1min9secs - the goal - there are a few that are awful here but what is Katic doing? Goldson steps out to tackle Eduard but Katic stands off, plays everyone onside and then when he finally decides to press Forrest, he cuts it back for a tap in. Not as guilty as Ejaria or even Tav, but he does nothing! Thats only 2-3 incidents that the clip shows but my main memory of the game was him being awful on the ball, putting it out of play with stray passes and a few sliced long balls. I think he will start on Sunday and his confidence should be high, played well the past few games, but he needs to be switched on to whats going around him. Even the goal we conceded against Hearts, their winger skinned Tav inside out but when the ball comes in Katic is too interested in Ikpeazu and ends up underneath the ball when he does try and head it clear. Sunday will go a long way to determining how good he could be, Worrall was awful at Parkhead but brilliant at Ibrox!

Interesting to hear him say that he went from following Leeds home and away, really supporting them, to not wanting to play for them because of the chip van incident. Obviously the circumstances are different and not all players have the same way of thinking, but maybe some food for thought for those that done want us to sign players who supported other teams/rivals as a kid?

I think hes better than Worrall but not Goldson, he the best defender we have by far! Goldson's performances have dipped at times but hes played more games this season than he has in the last 3 years, and you can see he is burnt out at times.

Based on what? He was all over the place the last time we played them!

It posts like this that make me laugh! I am delighted that the big man is back in the team and I hope he stays there, but let be honest here, hes done nothing to suggest that "He's that good". He is very raw but you would expect that from someone who has played less than 100 career matches and he will make mistakes. He played 90mins against celtic in the 1-0 defeat at the start of the season and although we didnt play well at all for large spells in that match, Katic almost cost us 2 goals before being all over the place at their goal. People remember Ejaria not tracking the run but Katic would have been as well not being there, just standing behind Goldson then eventually pressing Forrest but it was too late. He was also terrible on the ball for most of that match. As for being a guaranteed starter for Croatia, I think hes got a chance to play some games but there are a good few players (Lovren, Vida, Benkovic, Caleta-Car, Mitrovic, Pongracic) all playing at a higher level that him so I dont think hes guaranteed anything! I agree though that he should have been playing more games this season, you cant look beyond the fact that some of our worst results have happened when hes been out of the team...1-0 defeats to Livi, Aberdeen in the Cup, 1-1 at home to Kilmarnock, 1-0 at home to Aberdeen and it was also the first time this season he has played against Hibs! Thats a bit tongue in cheek and I am not saying that had he played we would have won, but it is interesting nonetheless. Sunday will be his biggest challenge and he needs to improve on his last showing against celtic!

£20m for Morelos and £8m for Tav are the figures that have been banded around in the press recently. Personally anywhere near £15m and I would sell Morelos and around £5-8m and I would sell Tav. I also think that we would reinvest a good portion of what we bring in for those two, especially as they are probably our 2 best/most valuable players.

What was the bit about the Reserve League or Youth League all about? He didnt seem too happy and seemed to suggest that someone would be making a decision/announcement without his involvement?

Tav will be signing a new 1 year deal next year?

Some of our support are absolute morons! There are loads of players that have signed for teams who were the rivals of the team they "supported" as a kid! Raheem Sterling, Jamie Carragher, Harry Kane, Isco, Raul, Gareth Bale, John Terry, Adam Lallana... MOH wasnt a failure because he supported them, he failed because he was shite and a complete and utter wank of a guy! As the years go on, given that celtic have won so many leagues in a row, we might find that more and more kids are growing up supporting the "winning team" and if the player is good enough and has the right mentality then it shouldnt matter. The fact that Hastie has actually approached Rangers after his agent trying to put him off speaks volumes for me.

The focus on playing football is driven by the club not the opposition. If we have a B team in the lower leagues and they come up against hammer throwers trying to kick them, then that will prepare them well for playing against Aberdeen and Motherwell!

But he also signed Kamara and Arfield, guys you said you would play? Hes not the first manager and wont be the last, to sign players that havent worked out the way he/we hoped it would, but he had the fore site to drop them for more effective players. I would say that shows he knows what we need and that he can spot a player.

I mean dont get me wrong, if he gets sent off again I think he will be hounded out of the country but I dont see it! He needs to play and hopefully get a few goals.

At the start of the season people were calling for him and Ejaria to be sent back but I think hes done enough to show he has quality but whether or not he warrants a £5-7-9m price tag...I think its to much for us! Unless its a loan deal or a bargain transfer, £2-3m, then I dont think we should be breaking the bank for him.

I think we will invest £10-15m (based on the previous 2 years) without allowing for player sales. If we do sell Morelos for big money, £10m+, then we need to be buying 2-3 players of quality...£5m mark quality!
