    Those were the days when we pulled up on the football specials at the likes of Haymarket (Hearts away to all you young guns!) The doors would open and the Billy Boys would start , then the polis dugs woulds start their whine , did it stop us ? Never , it made us louder ! We used to own those away days back then WATP !

    Funny thing is though , the Dundee "pelters" game was a good while after that cup final . He scored the hatrick and then had a nightmare spell . I was in the Copland that Saturday afternoon when the stand rose and gave it "Ally , Ally GTF...." . He was awful that day .We were awful . The weather was awful . I remember him after another sitter was missed , standing hands on hips , looking like he didn't give a fcuk. Our patience snapped , it had been a hellish season . How he turned it round is the stuff of legend . Truly remarkable. Now he's got to do it all again as gaffer .
