  1. You wander if he has told some of the players they will be moving on in the summer. Something not right, missing any kind of spark
  2. Just not clinical enough with our chances. Thought Wright was really brave at times and drove us forward on a couple of occasions. Bar the poor goal we lost, defence done brilliantly really stood up.
  3. Should be doing our homework & waiting for the right man whoever that might be, rather than choosing from the unemployment list. Interim manager until the end of the season to give the players a kick up the arse and a bit of pride back to Ibrox. Two obvious choices for me that are managing in the league already - but wouldn’t be a popular choice with some of the suppport.
  4. We have a real explosive start in the first 10 mins, pressing & creating chances. Seems that if we don’t score in this period we slow down and all intensity is gone. Was the same against PSV. Any decent attack we started ended up back to our goalkeeper by the 4th pass. We pressed their inexperienced defence and got a lot of joy from it, then for whatever reason we stopped doing it. Was a piss poor performance so laboured and slow - we cannot move the ball quick enough middle to front.
  5. Kamara is just too casual for these kind of games. Works in Europe brilliantly because he gets time and space on the ball. Derby games are about pressing and battling for the ball, moving it forward quickly. We have a great counter threat but don’t get the ball out quick enough. Tillman & Lundstrum are struggling fitness wise - too many touches and zero urgency in their play. Not saying he is the saviour but Raskin needs to come on. So far he has shown urgency on the ball and looks for the forward pass so get him on. We will see Cantwell soon enough if we continue with the walk it into the net tactic. They look a bit shaky at set pieces so no short corners please, get the ball right on top of them.
  6. Miss out the midfield and let Sakala chase the ball out wide. He cannot stay onside, dribble past a man or cross the ball, but he can run! It’s the only reason he has started the game but we are not using the only asset he has. Tav must be carrying an injury because he didn’t stretch at all for their goal. If he isn’t fit rest him and let him recover ffs it’s doing nobody any good. Press, press, press - we are creating our chances from their hesitancy & need to push them into more errors, win set plays etc.
  7. London or Frankfurt 🤔. He’s missed the Southampton flight thankfully!
  8. Short goal kicks and immediately losing possession when teams press. Not as bad domestically but absolutely killed us in Europe. Being in the attack third and within three passes the ball is back to our keeper. Outswinging corners. Midfield not making runs into the box. Not having cover at the back post defending set plays. The standard stat of 70% ball possession / 4 or 5 attempts at goal. No urgency in final 15 minutes of a game when chasing an equaliser or winner. Slow build up / lack of counter threat General fitness of players & muscle injuries. Something not right in the sports science dept.
  9. He’s the only option when we are crying out for an out ball. Colak has done well but he’s no use when he is getting no service. Run of games and Morelos will be no 1
  10. Morelos, Arfield & Scott Wright to start at the weekend - they all made a difference. Shite performance but 3 pts, another win vs St Mirren and try and regroup during the break. Can’t see us going any further with Gio but not a chance he will be away.
  11. Writing on the wall - even Lundstrum downed tools yesterday (and booking vs Napoli). No one single player is playing for him, can see the lethargy running through the entire squad. The board will not want the aggro with AGM coming up. WC break offers an opportunity to get someone in and give them time to work with the players. We need to transition from tippy tappy to being very physical and taking the game to the opposition. It feels very Le Guen esq - Walter came in, had half a season to work with what he had & started to build up from the back. Bringing success beyond what we ever would have imagined.
  12. 20 out swinging corners same outcome everytime 😖. Manager needs to go now but not a chance it will happen
  13. He is a much better option than Scott Wright any day of the week. End product was poor at times but he was one of the better players. Ball he drilled into the box should have been finished by someone breaking their neck to get in the 6 yard box
  14. Maurice Ross, Bob Malcolm, Alan Hutton and even Barry Ferguson comes to mind. We aren’t the most patient of fan base when it comes to giving young guys a chance to develop without screaming at their every mistake. The guy has shown some promise - has had a brutal set of results but at least he’s pulling up the socks and giving his best. Invaluable experience playing against some of the best and will only aid his development in looking back at where the mistakes were made. The full backs offer very little cover & he was getting drawn out of position trying to plug the gaps.
  15. Not saying get him out but he is clearly carrying an injury and having an issue with his fitness. He’s got no power behind his crosses/corners which is a tell tale sign, smallest tweak will cause more damage. His positioning tonight and in recent weeks has been really poor and is causing us all sorts of issues. Gio’s tactics made sense - we set up to press their back line high up the pitch and pounce on any mistake they made. Tillman was higher up than usual and was hovering waiting to win the 2nd ball. Unfortunately the white flag came out after 3 mins when they scored and the press stopped. Only we can be on the break and within three passes & no touch from the opposition, be hitting it 30 yards back to our goalkeeper. We have papered over the cracks domestically and rode our luck on occasion to be only 4 points behind. We have been unlucky with injuries but I just can’t see how Gio can turn it around. Don’t know if his heart is in it - he should have got money to spend when we qualified for CL - team seemed to take a dip after the window closed. Role of Ross Wilson doesn’t help. He is signing the players and manager is having to try and put the pieces together. The lack of game time for Ramsey (injuries aside) was two fingers up to the board IMO. He knew the deal when he took the job but it’s not working. Next manager needs to have complete control, a vision and the ability to boot a player up the arse and get the best out of him.
  16. That yellow was deliberate which is the most worrying part for me. Wasn’t in a dangerous position and knew exactly what the consequence of it would be vs Ajax
  17. Yilmaz looks like me might have a decent outball going forward. He was moving forward in exactly the way everyone has been screaming at Barisic to do. Injuries aside the lack of investment and forward planning has been an absolute shit show. Our midfield has no drive and can’t press. Team has lost heart, no fight what so ever. Can’t see Gio lasting past the weekend if we drop points. World Cup break affords an opportunity to get someone in and give them time with the players. Decision needs to come now though with the run of games coming up. Stick or twist for the board.
  18. First half tactics and approach was spot on. Opposition had a wobble after the Arfield goal, genuinely thought we were going to go on and score another couple. Complete collapse once Goldson went off injured. Tactics not changed and we got pumped because of it. Should have switched to a back 5 with Lundstrum giving the FB’s more opportunity to hit them in their weak FB position. That’s where they were vulnerable and our chances were coming from. The quick succession of goals was embarrassing. Was like watching a training session. Obviously Liverpool are a good team but we made it far too easy for them. Complete lack of press & belief in the second half. Gio was screaming at McGregor to punt the ball out so he could bring King on. Two quite telling observations with that. why would you voluntarily give up possession to a team that are battering you? And the fact that McGregor blanked the instruction was quite clear. The loss of Goldson is massive and looks like a bad one he has picked up. He is our only competent aerial defence we have. Couldn’t be any worse that we are playing Motherwell on Sunday. They will be playing for set pieces and rubbing their hands at the prospect.
  19. Unreal man. James Sands btw 👏🏻. What a team performance that was, will be massive to push us on
  20. Shambles all over the pitch. Laboured passing and nothing to offer bar passing between the back 4
  21. Lawrence looks a player - good tenacity and at least he’s trying to have a pop. Too slow again and lacking creativity. Putting the same ball into the box over and over isn’t working. We need to be much quicker down the wings, dilly dally three passes and they have 10 men in the box defending the cross. Be more direct and put the pressure on them. Goldson needs to take a step back from the attacking midfield role. Already booked and he got away with one at the end.
  22. Great deal for all involved (whoever sanctioned the transfer from Leicester will be sitting in a darkened room). Gave his all when he played, always finding something in the tank to push us forward. I’m sure he will do great hopefully see him back at Ibrox in the CL this season.
